OOOO I'm lovin the coupe. Wish they would lower the rear end a bit. Kinda weird being able to see the diff so easily.

I honestly wish they would make more a trunk. The C-Pillar shape gives it more of a hatch look then a coupe.

yeah, it definitely doesn't have a coupe profile. back-end is too beefy for me to consider it a 'sleek' car, but overall it does look nice. why-oh-why do designers always have to make the beltline so high on today's cars? it makes them look bloated.

The coupe is nice, it does remind me of the old school VW Corrado on the back end(not neccessarily a bad thing) but everything else looks good minus the yellow of course.

Cadillac wins big at Detroit
From autoblog: One bit of news we passed over on the way out the door of COBO Hall on Tuesday was the winners of this year's EyesOn Design Awards at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show. There are four awards given away each year, including Best Concept and Production Car and Best Concept and Production Truck. Cadillac sweeped the car side of things with the CTS-V being honored as Best Production Car and the CTS Coupe Concept named as the Best Concept Car. The BMW X6, meanwhile, was named Best Production Truck and the Chrysler ecoVoyager Concept nabbed the Best Concept Truck award. The EyesOn Design awards are sponsored by the Detroit Institute of Opthamology and judged by a panel of automotive designers including ex-VP of Design for GM Wayne Cherry, Chrysler's Senior VP of Design Trevor Creed, the renowned Henrik Fisker, GM's VP of Global Design Ed Welburn and Mazda's Franz von Holzhausen.

If this isn't impressive I don't know what is.
' The badassery going in inside the supercharged LSA V8 stuffed under the domed hood of the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V appears to translate well on the Nordschleife's graffiti-marked tarmac. GM announced today that John Heinricy exercised his right to life, liberty and the pursuit of a record time by wheeling a production-spec CTS-V around the Nürburgring's north loop in 7:59:32, which is believed to be the "fastest documented lap time" for a production sedan. Even if that turns out not to be the case, it's pretty freakin fast. GM shot video of the whole thing, which should be released in the coming days. Somewhere, Nissan engineers with furrowed brows are shoving the GT-R's 3.8L V6 into a G35 sedan...' Source: Autoblog

my only gripe is that its a GM product.. every GM I've ever owned or had to deal with daily was a complete P-O-S. I'd like to think that Cadillac's are different, but I have a sneaking suspicion they arent based on re-sale values after 100k miles. It does look good in my opinion though.

rated #2 in quality? .. sorry man, thats going to be a tough one for me to buy into.. it may well be true, but.. every GM that I've had, ex girls have had, friends, and family it was always the same crap. window motors, air conditioning, keyless entry, alternators, waterpumps, brakes constantly breaking or wearing out prematurely.. its ridiculous.
As far as Customer Care.. of course they are.. they'd better be, when people are dropping 50+k on a car, they are extra sensitive to customer care. |

Not really. BMW, MB, Audi, Acura, Lexus, Lambo, Ferrari, etc NONE of them are even in the top 100. Like I said, NO car company was on the list anywhere. Cadillac has exceptional service above anything else in the industry.

EDIT: I tend to believe sources until they give me a reason not to. I've not had one reliable source discredit JD Power.

I used to work for a company that was rated by JD Power and Assoc and they were aware of what JD Power looks at. With that information they would enact certain practices and do certain things to help skew the numbers in their favor. I cant say the company specifically, but it was in the TV industry.

We can agree to disagree.
The CTS-V is still uber fuckin hot and you can't argue that.
