2009 Cadillac CTS-V-OH-WOW!
AWESOME. The CTS is one of my fav. GM cars right now and is a critical and commercial success. The interior is just damn HOT!
Cliff notes: The 2009 CTS-V leap-frogs its chief competitor - the BMW M5 - with GM's new LSA V8 derived from the LS9 in the Corvette ZR1. To achieve that they installed the supercharged 6.2L V-8 with an output of 550 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque into a heavily upgraded chassis and then went about dressing up both the interior and exterior to match. For those who prefer to handle the gear selection process on their own, the same Tremec 6060 used in the ZR1 is paired up with a dual plate clutch. Another place where the CTS-V borrows from the ZR1 (and before that the STS) is the use of Magnetic Ride Control. The dampers filled with magneto-rheological fluid are adjusted based on sensor readings that happen at 1ms intervals. Like the ZR1, six-pot Brembo calipers do the work up front with four-piston units at the back. In this case though the 15" front and 14.7" rear composite rotors are made of steel with aluminum hubs and slotted surfaces. http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/08/d...d-with-550-hp/

Interior is my favorite part. I want to rub my penis on the steering wheel.
And the hood says, "Yea, this engine barely fits in here.".

Read up on Caddy. You'll be amazed. The "still a caddy" argument is old. They've been showered with awards from all types of sources over the last 2-3 years.

Ah, but if you buy one, you're probably not the one thats gonna work on it. I know for one that if I buy a brand spankin new CTS, something goes wrong, I'm taking it in. That's what warranties are for.

my only gripe is the grille...I would powercoat (or paint) it black if I owned that car.
The interior is nice, but is that suede on the steering wheel? That will not fair well over time...unless you drive with gloves on.

All this newfangled technology is the bane of modern society. Pretty soon the act of driving will be considered illegal. Now back when cars were cars, here's a real man's caddy! Cadillac V16. Had over 100HP! Now listen up young man, a ravishing young lady would shuck her bloomers to the dapper gent that would pick her up in this fine motorcar! But now we have all this newfangled stuff like air conditioning and radios actually mounted in the cars!! What's the world coming to? |

Not doing it for me. I understand that it's not the 'same old caddy' and that they are award winning and all but they still have a strong old geezer stigma attached to them imo. I'd also take an M5 over it. |
