KAde auto ecu questions
I am considering putting an auto ECU on my m/t KAde because I have heard that there are some benefits. I have HEARD:
1. the auto ECU has a higher rev limit (whoopity doo) 2. it has no speed limiter (def bonus) 3. it has slightly different fuel/timing curves which gives it a bit more power My questions are: 1. Is all or even any of this true? 2. Does anyone have dyno numbers with both ecu's if it is true? 3. Will I have to screw with the wiring a bit to make it work and if so what do I have to do? 4. Is there any difference in the performance of the different years of ecu's? I have done some searching and I cannot find any info on these questions. Your help would be greatly appreciated, thanks. |

single cam
all i know is that the automatic ecu got rid of the speed governor in my car (single cam). i can have the speedo needle pegged against the bottom of the guage cluster.
i cant confirm anything else.

Thanks, I was 99% certain that it would get rid of the governor. Anyone else? I know there are TONS of cheap asses like me that have done this or at least researched it.

I've been running an auto ECU for a while now, and never noticed any more power. I did notice that the speed limiter is gone, itll rev a little past 7 if you want to, and the idle never dips when you push in the clutch.

Speed limiter removal is the ONLY gain, there's nothing else different between the two.
As for fitment, any 91-94 will cross over. 95 and 96 can swap, and you can use a 97-98 if you repin three wires. All these will throw a CEL of course.

Neutral switch doesn't matter, it's simply to tell the ECU gear position. I never had one on my last car when I rewired it, the new one used to be auto and doesn't have it either.
