I just got a momo shift knob w/o the boot ($$$) and its alot shorter than the factory one.  Now I got this BiG uGly space between the shift knob and the boot.. i tried screwing it into the knob but it just falls down when i shift.. is there anything can do bout it or did you gotta buy the momo boot too and would any boot fit on the momo?!  all advice appreeciated!**)

My freind got a Momo knob on his prelude and he has the same problem.  He hasn't done anything about it though.
I'd imagine any boot would work, don't see why it wouldnt.

The ring on the bottom of your shiftknob should be touching your shift boot (that is if your shift boot is pretty new). Momo boots are only $50 or so... a little bit more than other boots.

I used to have that space on my old 240... I just put hair scrunchies over it. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> But I'm a girl... I can do that...

P.S. I had to use the scrunchies until I got the Momo one. You can buy any aftermarket boot, some of them have a tightener at the top. (usually a string...)

the Momo boot attaches to the knob, 2 diff versions of boot: one req's additional collar, other has a threaded collar inside the boot and screws to the knob. easy install as long as u dont trim it too short! the cheap aftermarket boots work ok and stand "tall" like S13grl said, but no "clean" way to attach to Momo knob, it would eventually settle and fall like OE......but Momo is SWEEEEETTT!!!

There's a Momo finisher piece that you can get which screws onto the bottom of the knob. It has a ring on the bottom where you can slip the momo boot on and eliminate that gap.

Momo makes 2 universal boots.  One is longer.

I had one on my Prelude because I couldn't bear with the gap. Got rid of the knob and boot, and replaced it with a Integra Type-R titanium shifter and factory leather boot with red stitching instead. It gets cold, but I don't drive the car in the winter anyways.

i have a leather momo shift knob, and my ring on the bottom won't fit, i don't have enough room to screw it in, so... shucks...

uhhh.........i have a knob that when i initially put it on created the same gap, but all you have to do is take the boot out, make it as tall as you can then put it back on, it's not tight, but the boot stays up right under the knob, there is plenty of material there, it's just all scrunched down
