Alternating Turn signals

Anyone tell me how to wire up my corner lights and to my bumper lights to alternate when I use my signals? I am good with wiring, but this is alittle over my head. Could I use a relay to make one delay?

Ok, and that would give it alternate perfectly?

Okay, on the subject of lighting, how would I make my corners come on with my running lights, and blink with my blinkers?

Sorry to jack your thread Redline.

Cut the hole in the light out, add a 3prong socket.

4 minutes.

lol lets explain lighting fellas... the turn signals have 3 wires (grd, pwr, 2nd filament pwr) the sides have 2 (grd and pwr). both pwr wires from both sides and turn signals are consistently on. the 2nd fil pwr wire on the turns adds light to the 2nd filament wire when electricty flows thru it.

if you were to tap the pwr wire from sides to the pwr on the turns it'd be on at the same time as your turns just like oem. but with the ground wire of the sides hooked to the 2nd filament wire on the turns then the electricity has nowhere to go and will shut the sides off when the turns come on... do you catch my drift?

thats what R240 meant by series... basic highschool electricity...

with the second question, you'd need the same 3 wire setup on the sidemarkers... this requires making a new 3 wire prong and using a dual filament bulb. and then just tap the 2nd filament pwr wire to the same wire on the front turn signals and attach the ground to the same ground... so it essentially uses the same power in parallel

Question

how about turning the signal lights always bright and then turn off and on when turning/blinking? i have tried joining the second filament wire and the power wire and it worked but i could barely notice the blinking. anyone know? pls respond.

do you mean just have it either ALL on or ALL off when blinking? but both on when just driving?

the reason you dont see the blinking much is because you are simply shortcircuiting the system slightly by joining the power wires together with a single wire.. the power is still getting to the bulb even when it blinks off. You need to find a way to make sure they stay both on at all times first. which would mean attaching both bulb filaments to the single constant pwr line. The electricity should keep them both live and bright this way. This means the 2nd filament is detached completely from its blinking source wire. Then you'd have to tap that blinking wire to the bulb in a way to create an instant short circuit or ground so that the electricity flows out when it blinks ON and leaves it a lone when it blinks OFF.

you MAY be able to tap the blinking power line to the ground wire... it sounds crazy, but what happens is when the blink comes on, it will immediately ground out and dissapear and this should short out the two filaments at once... when it goes off, then the electricity is safe to go thru.... it might not work as planned, but then again you are dealing with 2 filaments and only one ground. to do what you want to do, dogfather, you have to have two grounds separate to do it safely
