at first I was like o_O
but now I'm <3<3<3<3 this build is GNARLY very cool to see something different than the ziptied dumpster car wannabe drifter stance kids that are everywhere these days with the xbrace under the car, do you still have to run a driveshaft loop? what rear end are you planning on using to hold all that boost? |

For the rear i'm gonna use the stock stuff to get it up and running on 93 and get all my stuff sorted out and state inspection. To hold all the boost I talked to a guy with a 240 at my local track named Duy Bui with a 240 called "White Rice" and he told me this is what I should do: * dutchman housing - http://www.dutchmanaxles.com/irs-hou...-cv-style.html - 1250.00 ( 9 " housing * custom axles from drive shaft shop * Gtr hubs, from driveshaft shop * 9” moser internal * megan control arms / links: meganracing.com * Porsche 930 Cv so it will be a 9" center section with CV's and dutchman makes a bracket that will bolt it in place of the old stuff. Then some heavy duty axles and porsche CV. Duy Bui is making 1700hp on his setup so I'm thinking mine little HP should be fine. |

Got an ARC panel, don't think I posted it here. Been working on a wiring panel for the electronics. Got all my lights for state safety inspection working, headlight hi/lo, blinkers, hazards, brakes, parking lights, reverse, and the dash indicators as well.
A buddy is milling down the back of the water pump so that the belts will line up with the motor plate being there. Been working on the fuel stuff, some of these hoses have hardened up so when I shorten them or change the fittings they leak so I've got new feed and return hoses. Been thinking about moving the feed and regulator to the back of the rails and having the alcohol setup feed from the front. also got some new shoes that I'm loving big time The rear fitment kinda sucks. I went from a 26x8.5 with a 10" wheel on 6.5" back space to a 26x10(got a really good deal on the slicks) and a 8" wheel on 5.5 BS. They don't make these wheels anymore so finding 10/6.5" is gonna be tough. I'll have to keep an eye out and hopefully they'll pop up on one of the groups. It's looking good man, I'll have questions about the ARC panel when I get around to installing mine, and yeah, it may have been client side but they're working now.

got the board hung in its final location and locked down. can't wait to start terminating stuff on it and getting everything working.
lots of loom / wiring. I gotta get something to weld to the intake or elbow to put the IAT sensor in there, or maybe just tap the elbow. messed around with there racepak stuff, got it fitted into its home. I'll probably make some kinda backing to cover the gaps on the edge a little better. |

Duy knows his stuff as he has had some bad ass builds. Yup you were right his 2J 240sx is pushing down some monster power. Kuddos on the unique build I love it.

gotta figure out the wiper shit, damn chiltons shows every wiring schematic except this. I tried to guess and the shit didn't work out.
started working on a booster eliminator. Not sure if I want to run the nissan master cylinder or buy a dodge master cylinder that I was running on my fairmont. The dodge has been recommended by a few people and they say its the same thing as the stange so if i were to swap to strange brakes later i'd be ahead of the game. I'll clean it up and square it a bit better later, just free handed it on the band saw to get moving. drilled the holes and put bolts in the shifter, the earlier pictures it was just sitting in there. more wiring tonight. everything is firing off the key now, all lights work, ECU, coils, injectors all go hot on key on. |

Thanks and I will.
going back to the brake work. I decided on the dodge master cylinder factory 240 has a pretty nice adjustable cylinder rod once you pull all the shit off it front outlet might be a little close to the strut tower but it aint nothing a slot can't take care of no more brake shit for awhile. Gotta get a line lock kit then connect it all up. |

I feel like I'm reading a foxbody build thread, but it's accidentally an S13.
Definitely rad. Definitely subscribed. Definitely keep the updates coming.

I'm curious on why you chose that master cylinder specifically? If you wanted the line fittings on the opposite side the 90's Frontier brake master is what I used. It's the same as a rhd 300z Master.

because i had already run and knew that m/c from my foxbody. It would have been better if the brake lines came out towards the passenger side.

Got all my silvia front end except the headlights... cut up a perfectly mint hood in the process.
Finally got my convertor back from having 1/4" added on to it for the mid plate and put the trans in yesterday. Gonna run the stock center section (supposed to be welded diff) until i can put together the money for a 9". Gotta get my drive shaft cut down and figure out if there is an adapter or flange that will let me put my 1350 u-joint onto stock center section. ordered all new hotside and cold side pipe Friday so hopefully it will be here early next week and I can get the turbo kit built up. |

Got the exhaust tacked together, the cross over all tacked except one last v-band to the passenger side log. Driver side header is off a 98 vette and it has some ninja shit bends going on to get around the steering linkage, I'll post a pick of it when i finish weld everything. Gonna finish that and do the waste gate this week then start thinking about the cold side and drive shaft.

Couldn't you flip the headers to run them forward for the turbo set up or would that mess with your clearance? Just out of curiosity, why that monster elbow? Wouldn't a FAST or Holley Hi- Rise had fit better and made similar numbers?

What made you choose that intake manifold? I've seen some very high HP LS builds with the FAST manifolds. Seems like a lot of hassle just to have some cast aluminum sticking out the hood?

I could have ran the holley hi ram, it would probably stick out nearly as high as what I have now so that would be a wash in hood clearance.
I also want to run another row of injectors (maybe two more sets of injectors) so I was thinking i'd have space for them in these runners, high ram kinda goes straight up, im sure its been done but it seemed easier to me with this setup. I dont really think the intake is the problem, its the elbow, and yeah I could have got another shorted elbow and I may still do it but this is what I have for now, honestly when I bought it i didnt realize how tall it was, but now that i've got it I dont really care that it sticks out of the hood, my car has a 25.5 cage, its not like I can hide that theres nothing really stealth about any of it, its built to compete in outlaw 8.5 / limited 8.5 / mx235 as far as flipping the exhaust manifolds: I have a log style manifold on the passenger side that I ran last year and it seemed simple enough to just keep running it this year, being that the intake is already hanging out the hood, having the turbo hanging out isnt a problem (unless you start getting into rules about forward facing turbo stuff). I tried to fit a stock truck intake and it wouldnt fit under the hood either, I could have went with a low rise ls1 car style intake but then i could put my extra injectors in it. if this turns out pretty well and I get to run it and have fun im thinking next year of moving the wheels forward a bit and doing twin turbo's that would sit down under a stock hood, that combined with a low rise rear facing elbow would probably make you hood nazi's a lot more happy |

Are you Sloppy Mechanics on Youtube?
Edit: Just took a look at his channel. Doesn't seem like the same person. Very coincidental that he has built a number of Turbo LS Fairmonts and now has a Turbo LS s13. Last edited by theultimatehero; 07-14-2016 at 01:32 PM.. |
