Cracked coolant hard line - S13 SR20

OK, so I just started my SR, and I had a massive coolant leak. I'd replaced all the hoses under the intake manifold, so I didn't think it was one of those. I could see it dripping off a small coolant hose, but couldn't see exactly where it was coming from. Just to be safe, I pulled the hose off, and replaced it again. Still leaking.

Its kinda dim in my garage, so I can't see exactly where it's coming from, but I'm 99% sure its leaking from the hard line, at the joint shown in the picture below.

It is the line that goes from here:

to here:

(ignore the text, not my pictures, I just bypassed the throttle body and connected the two nipples.)

Ok, so my question is, can I remove that hard line from the block? Do i need to heat it up, or what? I will pull off the intake manifold tonight to make sure that is actually what's leaking/cracked. If I pull the pipe off, I can take it somewhere to be welded.

Or can cap off that hose near the throttle body, and weld on both ends and call it a day?

Thanks,
Sean

Sean, sup man? Long time!

If you aren't using those hoses for the throttle body, then I would say that if you have the whole hard line assembly off, then just get it chopped off and welded shut.

Might as well clean up that mess of coolant lines when you have the chance

Hey buddy, how have you been?

I think I'm gonna just chop that line coming out of the block (1st pic) before the little hose T, because its that joint that is cracked. I'll just cap off the upper one closest to the throttle body.

Anyone see an issue with that? I only have two heater hoses then I already removed/capped all my other coolant lines. This was the last one I wasn't sure if I could remove it...

Don't forget the annoying line that goes to the back of the block for the turbo.

I'm sure Andrew and all the other people have urged you to cut and weld shut the coolant line for the turbo that goes to the back of the block, and instead run the S14 water neck and turbo line setup over the stock S13's

oh, that line is long gone. mattback and I pulled all the coolant lines to the turbo and put a bolt in the block where the banjo was. its a t25. if it dies, its like $50 to replace. plus I don't think I'll do any damage with no coolant running through it.

i literally have the three heater hose lines and that's it. two that go to the heater core, and one that bypasses the thermostat. well, plus I have that shitty little line that is leaking now, but I won't have it for long...

Nice nice.

Very simple motor, I love SRs.

If it wasn't for the fact that I'm still trying to make mine daily drive-able, I would have tore out all the useless crap for it ages ago.
