My S14 passenger door wont open. Is it possible to remove the panel from the inside?

This happened to a friend's car before. The panel can be ripped off but that should be a last resort. Try to have someone on the outside or inside of the door pulling the handle while you push against it with your legs (from inside).

if you can roll the window down, you can use a long set of pliars, and grab the latch from the inside and open the door that way.. i had to

Pulling off the front fender will reveal 4 bolts that can help you take the door panel off

taking off the fender is a no go with the door stuck in the closed position.

no one here ever suggested calling AAA and having them use a slim jim?

i mean, this is common sense... bypass the handles and work the linkage

Low budget home fix doesnt equate to calling AAA lol

If the catch in the door jamb is any bit loose and shifted, it could have gotten stuck (wedged) into the door latch itself and brute force is the only way to free it, as was the case with my friend. Hopefully you are able to get it loose by pulling on the rod from the window slit though.

I bought my car with the passenger door stuck shut. The lock wouldn't seem to unlock. I was able to remove the door panel from the inside starting from the end of the door working my way towards where it hinges. Unfortunately it did collapse at a point in the door. It's not too noticeable but it definitely there. I don't think you can remove it without causing some kind of damage to it. After that I followed the rod connecting the lock switch to the locking mechanism and yanked on it with pliers till it clicked and voilÃ*. I will note however after that i found it impossible to lock the door with the switch. I had to manually force the rod in to lock. I still have my door panel off and haven't really looked into it. Anyone know how to address that? Not trying to thread jack but it the problem seems synonymous.
