Late 90s Sport Coupe Buildup
Seems like a good place to dump pictures as I work on the car, so here we go.
Day 1. It was snowy, tons of salt and sand on the road but I still had fun driving it home. This was about the last time the KA saw the road until I dropped off to begin tearing it apart. Courtesy my friend Phil @ JEI, I picked up the following: Sr20DET Notchtop (which ended up having a brand new Nismo Clutch + Flywheel Solid Mounts 2-way diff Greddy M-spec for S14 Test pipe S14 Manual driveshaft Here it is on my buddy's trailer after some Italian for lunch. We got the motor pulled, rear end dropped and all the auto bits removed so we could as simple of a rebuild as possible. The rear end is getting PBM subframe risers and SPL diff bushings along with OEM hardware from Nissan for re-installation. While that was happening, my D-max Type 3 rep kit, BN rep fenders and Chargespeed rear overs all came in along with my Veilsides. I actually have the wheels for sale, but only because I still have other wheels in mind. Otherwise I will rebuild them to fit. Excuse the less than stellar photograph, but my buddy sent me a quick pic after refinishing the intercooler, I'm excited to see it in person, it was in rough shape before. Fast forward and my Chase Bays power steering line came in along with Isis clutch master hardline and a bunch more oem Nissan hardware. I have a major fetish for brand new hardware. I will say, after the hit or miss deals people have with Chase Bays, I got my cable in a week and I am very pleased with it. As of last weekend, we dropped the motor in after I took the battery tray out and burned out the bushings for the subframe. Coilovers also came in, thanks Terry @ Fortune. Went with Swift Springs rated at 20k/18k.
