95 240sx ka24de fuel issue
Hey guys, well when I go to start my car, I turn the key over and the car will just keep trying to turn over, but when I pull out the fuel pump fuse, turn it over a bit, it will then turn over and run and then i have to throw the fuel pump fuse BACK in and the car will start and run. im thinking leaky injectors? but i just replaced all the O-rings on my injectors and cleaned out the fuel rail and still having this issue. any thoughts? thanks!

I have bee thinking about your question for a while, but im kinda stumped. What have you tried so far, and what was the cars reaction?

If it starts/runs fine after pulling the pump fuse, then I'd say the problem is pressurization (pump and/or regulator).
Put a gauge on it to verify the system pressurizes properly.

I took off my fuel rail, cleaned it up, replaced the O-rings, and when i put it back on, the car would start up no problems at all, but there was a very loud hissing noise, which i wasnt sure if it was coming from #4 injector or the lines going to my FPR. SO i took off the fuel rail again, put on a clean, uncracked hoses, and now the noise is gone, but it wont start without pulling out the fuse. so im thinking FPR or some type of pressurization like Mikster was saying. thoughts?

like he said check to see if u get fuel pressure and like he said it could be fuel pump or fpr maybe fuel filter

changed out fuel filter with a new one. if it is the fuel pump, how would i go about seeing if that the issue? replace it? i can test the pressure off the FPR.

If you really want to know if your filter needs to be changed, gain access to your fuel pump and see if the sock is still securely attached to the suction port and in good condish. If it is, there is a 99.9% chance that there is nothing wrong with the filter in the engine bay; the sock serves as the primary filter with the eng bay filter being a "fail safe." If the sock is laying at the bottom of the tank allowing the pump to freely suck up tank debris; THEN you may want to highly consider purging the lines between the tank & filter; changing the engine bay filter & securing the sock back on the pump or getting a new pump altogether... If that sounds too labor-intensive, then just disconnect the fuel feed from the rail, point it into a bucket and turn the key on... If fuel flows freely out of the line, the filter is most likely fine. However, since you spent all that time cleaning the rail, replacing 0-rings etc; a full inspection might not be a bad idea.

You can pull the line off the rail feed and verify good fuel flow from the pump by turning the key on & watching the fuel come out... and before you put it back together, put an inline pressure gauge between the filter & rail to check the pressure.

i have the SAME exact problem with my 96 ka and cant figure it out for the life of me. i think the motor keeps getting flooded by having to much pressure. when i pulled my fuel pump it worked properly and the sock was in good condition. i replace oring on injectors got them cleaned and made sure there firing correctly as well. i do have a hissing noise which could either be a fuel line or vacuum line missing. if you find the problem PLEASE message me how to fix it.
