trip to amsterdam, info?
im just looking for some info on amsterdam, and i already tried searching, but couldnt really find anything worth while. there used to be a thread on here a long time ago that had tons of pics and all that, but i cant find it.
basically a friend and i are going over to amsterdam in september and were looking for information from the smoker community on where to go, the good shops, and the cheap places to stay, some good maps of the city, prices of bud, prices for everything...etc... all in hopes that we can start saving money now so that we can have a great trip once we get there any info would be great, even a link to a guide of some sort to amsterdam would be a great help. -glen

here are our pics from AMS..
http://www.prandom.com/ams.html and these are some of the goods: http://www.prandom.com/ams/amsds/index.html Your gonna have a blast! The people there like everything very small and cozy. EVERYTHING. And most everyone is very tolerant of just about anything. Just don't smoke pot in the streets. It is looked down upon, and could potentialy cause trouble with the local police. Feel free to walk around stoned out of your gourd though. It's a little weird at first, but once you realize no one cares that your high, b/c most of them are also high, everything gets mighty cozy. I would like to recommend Kandibski's, The Dampkring and my personal favorite.. the Bush doctor. Grasshopper is very trendy, and very loud. We didn't hang there very long. We did witness someone get thrown out b/c they brought alcohol into the weed bar. (apparently illeagal in AMS.) Most bud goes for b/w $7-10 a bag, or 5-10 a gram. Depending on where you go, some places will sell it by the gram or by the presorted bags. Bags typically have b/w 1-2 grams. (your not suppose to carry more than 5 grams on you.) Let me tell you, we had 6 avid smoker there, and we purchased a grand total of about 9 grams for 5 days. When we left, we couldn't finish it. There was about 1.5 grams left for the owners of the house boat we stayed at. They have some SERIOUS bud there. They also have very light and airy bud. You have to tell the dealer what knd of high you want, and they will give you their suggestions. Try shrooms while your there too. The Magic Mushroom Gallery is AWESOME. They have a trip for any occasion. The best is just cruising all around downtown, and checking out all the little coffee shops. Find an alley, and you'll likely find a coffeeshop. (don't worry about crime.. there is VERY little crime in the dam, just watch for pick pockets) You'll likely also run into a person or two trying to sell you coke, or lsd. DON'T buy it. It's always fake! Once you locate a cool little coffee shop, stroll in, and walk up to the bar and ask for their "menu." This menu will have all of the choices, and prices laid out for you. Pick your poison, roll a fatty, and get to business. And if you want to smoke what you already bought while your cruising around, just stop into the nearest spot, and smoke away. It's polite to buy something while your there. ALL coffeeshops have munchies, and drinks. This is a good way to say thanks for letting me smoke your place out. (if it isn't already.) As for lodging, if you haven't booked a place yet, I would highly recommend renting an apartment, or house boat. Especially if you plan to smoke a lot. Most hotels don't allow smokers, and the houses are always much better furnished. Visit the museum's. There is some cool stuff. Their museums are fairly small though compared to ours (remember the cozy thing..), and they are very "hands on" where our museums are not. The Wax Museum is freaky as shit, and the sex, and turture museums were cool too. I can't give any advice about the red-light district, as I did not partake. I can say that you are not suppose to take photo's of the girls. And, Yes, there are a lot of very hot girls in the windows of the red light district. Most with just panties on, or some langerie, a few buck naked. All 7+ on the 10 scale. Nobody rolls phatty "Cones" like the Dutch. You in for an awesome time. I hope to be going back soon.

Sykik we rolled up and smoked in the park or on the streets all the time and never had any problems,,you dont really see to many cops around either. The funniest was when we first arrived there was some dude tripping out on the street with cops and ambulance around him trying to help him out,,I was like what did I get my self into .. Bushdoctor was the shitt!! Grey area was cool too. Also we had a hotel and they say dont smoke in it but we did and set off the fire alarm ..But really they dont care, they just said to keep the windows open when you blaze. Theres alot of other crazy stuff like weed college, marijuana/hash museum, and smart shops( I had a bad experience, but thats a diff story). Did you meet the guy that invented the vaporizer? I should scan some of my pics in.. How long did you stay? We were there for 9 days. I also saw ll cool j shopping with his wife, crazy..

When did you go? We went in March this year, all the material we read said that it wasn't Kosher. The cops don't care, and it's very unlikely that they would even bother you, but it just wasn't polite. I think I only saw maybe 2 people in the streets actually smoking a cone while we were walking around, so I figured that was a good sign that we should be a little low key about it in public. I'm sure the park would be perfectly fine though. It's a Park! We were there for 5 days, and 5 nights, and stayed on this SWEET houseboat. The owner told us it was about 400K dollars, mostly b/c of taxes for living in the canal (space is VERY limited). I had heard a lot of good things about Grey Area, but we never went, just didn't have enough time. Didn't smoke a single Vap while we were there. We ended up buying a little $10 bowl, and smoking out of that on the go. The first coffeeshop we rolled into was Kandibsky's. Got a little White Widow, and made our way up stairs. My friend was rolling a phatty when this dude about 50-60 yr's old rolls up, and sits next to us. He breaks out his stach and rolls this beautiful cone, and the dealer comes up and delivers a cup of coffee to him. It just seemed weird b/c it was exactly what I had imagined seeing.. A traditional "Dutch Coffee Break" lol. Kind of set the tone for the whole trip. Interesting thing is the number of nationalities you will meet. Seriously people from all over the world. We took a canal cruise (very touristy, but highly recommended b/c it was quite informative, and gives a great oppertunity to take lots of pics.), and the driver said there are over 160 nationalities that live and work in Amsterdam (I think). And they all get along.. that is what really freaked me out as an american. We have all lot of diversity, but a LOT more hate, and racial division. In the dam, The focus is more on Drugs, and Sex, than Hate. It makes you realize just how violent the US is. Everytime I start talking about it, I just start rambling on. Anyways. If you have any questions, I'll be more than happy to help. -Charles p.s. a few random tips: Try the Space Cake, and/or space bon bons while your there. Take it easy though. They take a while to come on, but come on VERY strong for some people. Dutch pastries in general are the BOMB. There are palces that sell munchies everywhere. Use the Tram to get long distances, but walk for everything you can. All the really cool stuff is found just wandering around.
