first ever swap
Alright sr guys this is my first ever swap and im having a hell of a time getting it running, its just stock sr into s13, i got a brand new engine harness and spliced all the ka plugs onto the sr harness just like it shows on frsport, the base timing and ignition timing are on its getting spark and fuel but it wont fire. Also the only way it will crank is buy using a jumper wire from the battery to the starter, it wont cranck with the key. I dont know what else to do seeing that im new to this whole sr swap stuff any tips would be awesome. Thanks guys

Are your fuel lines backwards, when you set the timing are you sure you were at tdc, and did you do the wiring right, and was it a auto to manual swap?

Sounds to me like some wiring issues. Only way to crank it is to jump the starter, something is wrong there... |

It could be the ECU its self, my buddy and I had problem tryin to crank. We were working with a S13 Blktop Sr. Then switch ECU to a J4 and it started right up.
So try to get one of your buddys ecu and check that, other than that try check the wiring. |

thanks for the help guys i figured it out, ecu wasnt screwed in completly, stupid mistake, and the reason it wouldnt start with the key is because the bracket on the clutch petal doesnt have the little rubber or plastic cover on it where it pushes the clutch safety switch button, runs great now, thanks again for the help though
