Replacing wire in windshield washer pump wire connector

One of the 2 wires going to my windshield washer pump broke at the connector. Ideally I'd like to insert a new wire into the stock male connector but I have no idea how to get the pins inside the connector out.

So far I've figured out how to get the little green piece out of the connector and that's about it.

Anybody know how to replace these pins and also where to get new pins once I get the old one out?

Typically you just push the new pin in and the primary latch secures it.

First step is to remove/release the locking tab... which you have already done. Next thing is to release the terminal tabs. I'm not sure on that particular terminal, it varies by type, but it will have 1 or 2 tabs on the terminal that need to be depressed so the terminal can release from the plug. So you will need to depress the tab(s) and at the same time pull on the wire to pull the terminal out from the plug. In this case where the wire is broken.... you will need to push on the front of the terminal, while depressing the tab(s), to get it out. The easiest way to remove a terminal from a plug is with the proper terminal removal tool. I own this kit:

23 PIECE MASTER TERMINAL TOOL KIT MASTERM23 | Matco Tools

Now I highly doubt you will run out and buy a $200+ kit, but you can use a micro flat blade to cram in there and release the tab(s). So on the terminal that has the wire broken off, you will need one flat blade to release the tab, while using another one at the same time to push on the front of the terminal to push it out the back of the plug.

Thanks for the info. Yea, no need to spend that much when hopefully this will be an uncommon job for me.

I stumbled upon a great pdf showing a ton of different connectors and the proper tools required to work with them.

Just in case anyone finds this thread later on. Might help some identify a connector to order a new one if necessary.
