So, I decided being hot all the time sucks, and I'm putting back in my ac system. The problem is, I have no idea how to get the ac lines actually it, like I know there's 1 that goes behind the motor, but I just don't know the best way to put it in.

So, my question is, does anybody know the best way to install these ac lines with the minimal effort? Pics also help.

the easiest way is to buy all the oem parts and put them back in.... FYI you need to get a complete system specific to your model year. s14s have like 3 or 4 different oem compressor/line setups. Install with all new oiled o-rings, have the system vacuumed, and charged by a professional.

and i want to interject that people who voluntarily remove their a/c, power steering, etc. are idiots. I hope that's not you. The last thing we need is more idiots.

I can contribute this, if that's what you're looking for. Ive heard of some people cutting their lines on s13s to remove their ac, but this came out of my s14 with very little effort. I can't imagine a reverse process being too much more difficult to reinstall.

Bought the car with the lines ect removed.

Basically bought a complete system from 95 for my 96.

I just mean snaking the lines through the bay. Like the compressor to the dash component, behind the engine is really the only one I'm not sure about. I was of course gunna get new o-rings as well. I don't understand why anyone would remove the creature comforts out of a street car. Seems masochistic to me.

Keep in mind there are quite a few junctions that the lines come apart at. The line that runs behind the motor is really no big deal at all. If I were you I would get all the lines sitting about where they need to be while they are separated from each other, and then once you have them all in their approximate location go ahead and connect them.

Also if by complete set you mean you picked up a 95 evaporator then you should be golden. But if you're trying to use the 95 lines with your 96 evaporator (behind the dash) I don't think that's going to work. The fittings are different sizes if I remember correctly.

I'm actually not sure... Cuz yeah, my dash stuff is 96, and the lines and compressor are all 95

I did the recharge myself and been working for the past 2-years +. I guess if you don't feel comfortable, you can pay for it.

Well, regardless of charging ect, I'm more interested in how to actually install the thing and now whether or not I need a 95 Evaporator too...

I read, but still not 100% sure, because used online, like from 240sxusedparts.com, it looks like it's different connections, but if I could fit the line in its proper place, I could see if it fit correctly.

Well, I'm hoping, still don't know how to get the Evaporator to Compressor line in there

Update: the 96 Evaporator is indeed different than the 95 and will not work with the 95 lines. However, the lines are modular and come apart easily. Therefore the fitment isn't that difficult.

So, here is the list...

1995 Evaporator fits 1995 Lines to Compressor Only!
1995 and 1996 used the same Drier with Pressure Sensor.
Same Condenser/Mounting as well. All lines aside from Evap to Comp will fit at least for Zenki S14s.
Compressor is the same for all Zenki's.

Parts Geek sells both the O-Ring Kit and the Valve Core/Cap kits if your AC is missing either of those.

As a side note, the lines are partially modular and there are O-Rings between them which should be replaced/relubed before charging the system to prevent leaks.

Hope this helps anyone trying to piece their creature comforts back together.
