Here's yet another wheel offset and tire question.

I have a S14 and I mounted 17x9 +14 wheels with 235/45/17 tires in back. My S14 is fairly stock, H&R Sport springs on Koni Yellow shocks. There's a bit of camber in back from lowering and I'm not quite sure how much it's off by. When I have the wheels on, it's sticking out a tad bit, but there's still a 1 inch gap between tire and the rear quarter panel. However, as I was pulling out of my driveway, there was some serious rubbing going on. Then I took the car for a spin around the block and I noticed some rubbing when I drove over any small dips or imperfections on the road.

I'll be going to the tire shop next week but I wanted to get some opinions before I go. The thing is, I want to avoid rolling the fenders or pulling the body. I don't think it's neccessary so I won't do it unless I have no choice. Would I be clear if I had 225/40/17 sized tires mounted on? Or would it be a better if I had 215/40/17 instead? I don't want to stretch the tires too much so 215 seems a bit crazy in my opinion. My S14 is a daily driver and I do more grip driving than I do drifting.

Using the 225 will help a little, but i really think you should look into getting your fenders rolled. It may not be totally necessary, but with the height, width and offset of your wheels it would be a good idea. Your also going to have to dial in some more negative camber (i.e. ruca).

Why are you against rolling fenders?? A simple roll will not even be visible, but may give you the clearance you need for your 235's. Or you could always get RUCA's and just dial in a bit more camber.
