Heat Issues
So I've been experiencing some temperature issues now that we are starting to have warmer days... First off let me tell you my coolant setup, i have a Koyo Aluminum radiator, with 2x Flex - A - Lite fans and the thermostate is set to 190F... It has plenty of coolant, and when i start getting into stop and go traffic or anything besides for cruising for a distance, it wants to run really hot... I have a Greddy Informeter that is wired into an OBD2 harness... It is telling me that my average temp when cruising is 170F when i start and stop it begins to climb and ive had it go up to 230F, the needle on my cluster climbs to Hot and by then i get nervous and blast the heat and turn the car off... Any suggestions or input on my situation, thanks in advance...

No i didnt put the coolant in, i recently had a company rebuild my engine with internals, so i will try that and see what happens, if it continues... I do remember when i turn my engine off i noticed a gurgling sound coming from my engine bay... could that be the air resettling?

Just to warn anyone, it was JGY Customs, they took a year to rebuild an engine... and the rebuild it self seems ok (so far) but they did a shotty job putting it back in...

damn a year? hmm did they send you the same motor back? lol just kidding, but thats ridiculous that it took that long and they didn't even bleed the coolant..i'm sorry man better check over everything else again

yes bleed your radiator. but something else to help while in traffic. if you can throw in an on switch on top of the thermo switch for the fans so you know that the fans will stay on while sitting there. if you do this just remember to turn the switch off eventually. lol

Just wanted to show some closure... I hate when you read a thread and dont know if the issue is resolved... I bleed the radiator and it didnt fix the problem, what i did end up noticing is that my fans didnt kick on, which i didnt understand at first until i pushed on the fuse and they kicked on... i inspected the housing and noticed that it had actually been getting really hot, when i removed the fuse i could bend it! Im guessing it was getting to hot being tapped against my power wire comin from my battery from the trunk, so i replaced the entire housing and replaced the fuse and moved it off the power wire and i has been working like a champ ever since, i can sit in one spot and it never goes above 190F... Problem fixed... For now!
