5 lug conversion issues

Recently I purchased Ichiba hubs to do a 5 lug conversion on my S13. I got the hubs on and supposedly they were said to be "bolt on" without any modification but after the hub assembly and everything is on it seems a bit loose. The rotor shakes and needless to say when I brake the pedal has to be pumped a few times before it wants to stop. I took pics I noticed the hubs don't have the holes for the screws to hold the rotor in place to the hub. I wanted to know should I have these hubs taken to a machine shop with the rotors for them to drill holes for the screws or not? Has anyone else had any issues like this before? also if they can't be drilled for screws to hold the rotor in place is there any other alternative to get this going so I can have a proper 5 lug conversion?

The threaded holes in the rotor are to help remove it, not bolt it to the hub. Some times they rust on and you take two bolts and tighten them into the rotor a few turns at a time to push the rotor off the hub.

As for the main problem you are having all I can say is scrap those parts and get factory Nissan parts and call it a day.

2 notes;

-You don't need to put anything in those holes, the rotor is held against the wheel hub by the wheel itself, getting it's tension from the lug nuts.
-Did you put back that rounded square thing? I don't know what it's called, but you put the hub on and that thing fits around the axle stub, then you put your hub bolt on.

Yeah, it looks like a washer, but it's round with a flat spot on it that slips over a notch on the spindle.

The hubs might not be pressed all the way onto the knuckle.

I'd check the torques on the axle nuts too, they should be a lot. around 132 ftlbs on the front and150 ftlbs on the rear IIRC. Beyond that I'm stumped, there isn't much that can be going wrong other than having bad hubs, but I'd check what I mentioned before first.

For the brake pumping thing, sounds like you need to rebleed them properly. Remember the order: back right, back left, front right, front left. And make sure the BMC has fluid in it the whole time you do it.

The screw holes are there to push the rotor off with a bolt if they get 'fused' to the hub. on the rear rotors (if z32) one is for a screw driver to go through to adjust the ebrake i think, but im not for sure because i've never messed with them.

I bought used nissan hubs and instantly had to replace them with new ones, I'll never do that again. My front ichibas have been going strong for 9 months so far with regular abuse from drifting and hard driving. Ichiba is known to be hit or miss though.

for your brakes you either need to re bleed them or get a new brake master cylinder
