Bought a better quality gauge.
If you must use it though, get either an adapter to extend it out further, a 90 degree fitting, or anything to just move it away so you have room. You should also remove and throw away the plenum brackets if you haven't already, gives more room.

i tried using an extension and other things, i jus couldn't get it to fit in the block. so after i got my oil filter relocator, the new oil filter adapter has holes for items like these. screw'd it right in, done.

the only reason i got a oil press gauge is because my stock unit was leaking badly, so i figured i might as well go ahead an get a gauge. but i ended up getting a stock unit to replace it since i couldnt find anywhere that sold 1/8 bspt bolts to plug it with, and the place i usually go to to get braided lines is closed today and tomorrow.
oh well it only cost me 10$ to replace. |

couldnt you just use some tape or silicone on the threads or mating area to stop stock oil pressure switch from leaking? silicone might get into oil and block flow maybe |

The threads aren't the problem. The OE oil pressure switch leaks out the back of the unit over time from the pressure. Replacing it with another OE switch is just buying time until it leaks too. An true gauge with a real sender or just a plug is a much better option. Not like the OE switch is even usable anyway.

The switch trips the light at low pressure, period. If the switch isn't plugged in it can't trip the light, ever.
