S13 DCC Help

So me and a friend decided that after years of sitting in the box I received it it, we'd tackle installing a dcc I bought off a forum member. The person already had the wiring labled for where it needed to go so using those tags and using both the write up off here and a guy's step by step video, we got everything installed without too much hassle... or so we thought.

We got everything installed exactly how the videos said to do and wired exactly like the write up says to do on here. By doing it this way here are the current issues as of last night.

1. the air blows all the time. switched back to the usdm blower resistor and it
fixed the air blowing when the key is at ACC, but still continues to blow
when the key is turned on and when the car runs, even when the dcc is
turned off.

2. even with the hvac working and the rod bolted in just how the videos
show, the ac does not change temp.

3. as of 9am this morning, the dcc seems to be draining the battery. Came
outside to find the car completely dead. Jumped the battery to start the
car and the unit worked except for the display screen.

The car is a 93 240sx se coupe if the year make the difference.

ANY help anyone can give would be appreciated.

Ok. So I messed with it a little more today and I got the battery on a charger. Started it up and everything worked on the dcc unit, but I'm still having the issue with the air still running on high (with the jdm resistor) any time the key is turned. It still blows at low speed with the usdm unit being used. I had to unhook the large 6pin plug to get the air to stop blowing. Just waiting to see if the battery is still being drained.

JDM one needs to be trimmed down as it touches a metal pipe in the blower motor that causes the high speed fan constantly being on.

Hmm. Neither the video nor the write up on here that I used mentions trimming. Both says its just a straight swap with no mods needed.

What's the best way to trim the jdm unit to match the usdm?

Grinder or dremel. Look at the length, noticeable difference.

You could also cover the pipe with something.... get creative. Wiring loom, pipe insulation, a rag lol. Pretty much just have to stop the contact.

Alright. I'll try blocking the pipe like you suggested before I start cutting up the jdm piece. My only question with that is why the air continues to blow even with the stock resistor being used.

Anyways, so the 16pin plug that is suppose to have a black wire that needs to be grounded by cutting the red/yellow stripped wire and grounding it. According to ziptied, it needs to be the stripped wire on the second plug, not the one the jdm harness plugs into that I have to cut and ground, right? Going by the videos, I cut the red/yellow stripped wire that is on the plug that the jdm one plugs into. Would that matter?

Oh, and I just happen to notice that on my harness, I have NO black wire on the 16pin plug that is suppose to meet that red/yellow wire that has to be grounded.
