RIP Les Paul!
Man, this is quite shocking. two music icons now gone in just one summer.
RIP Les! At least I still have my Les Paul Standard to remember him by. Sadly, I never had the opportunity to go to his birthday celebrations at the House of Blues on Sunset where all the guitar gods who played Gibson Les Paul guitars would pay tribute to the man. Les Paul is beyond legendary. The Les Paul is my favorite guitar. Period.
RIP Les, no one will give more to music than you have.

Oh and its not just the Les Paul Guitar, that was so great, that he is responsible for. He invented multitrack recording, with the first 4 track recorder. Everything I now and learned as a sound engineer started with this man. He was absolute musical genius.

that is so true. his contributions not only helped music here, but world wide. without his inventions like the electric guitar, multi-track recording, and tape delay, the world music industry would never have flourished.
