Hey I was just wondering y u can put a turbo on some engines and u can't on others?? All it is is forced induction what does that have to do with the engine???

Some engines just don't have strong enough internals to handle the extra stress. Some motors have too high compression. However, with enough modification probably any engine could prepped to handle a turbo....just might not be worth it.

One thing everyone should remember, is there's a difference between whether an engine CAN be turboed and whether it SHOULD be turboed. Every engine can be basically, it's just a question of whether you should.

Reminds me of those 9 second focuses.. why would anyone use a butt ugly slow as #### FF ford focus as a platform to build a racecar?? I mean, you can get them to go fast, but then again you can get any car to do go fast with money.

Not all that bad... ahhh I tend to disagree because, well, Hyundai has a Tiburon Rally car but that means nothing in terms of their overall image.
And Fords.. I like the old 60s-mid 70s Rustangs, but none of their new cars. Actually, I DO like the F150... but that's probably the only new Ford I like and it's a truck. (12s truck I might add) They don't build (American) cars like they used to.. |

and the drag Phuckus i mean Focus had been converted to RWD. and has a 3 liter v6 in it. one of then is pulling down mid 7s now. but there are 2 Z32's that pulling down mid 7's also, one in single turbo and the other is twinturbo.
AS FOR any car can be turboed, true. as long and u upgrade the fuel, puter and motor for the extra power made and u have enough room under the hood, it can be done. but for a NA Z to be properly done, it would cost like 6-10k. depending on used or new parts and how big a turbo u go. there was a decent artical in *cough* super street *cough* a few months ago (with the 900hp400touq MK4 with a 4 cylender on the cover) that had a good FAQ for turboing cars. it was titled "8 dumb questions of turbochargeing" |

I was for some reason thinking that turbo engines were built different internally inorder to be customized specifically for the forced induction and NA motors were built specifically for NA. LOL im sure i heard that from some back woods redneck idiot though who didn't know a turbo from the hole in is ass too so, lmao i guess i was just wondering.

The difference between a motor setup for turbo and one setup for NA usually lies in the compression (piston shape) and also probabaly cams, timing, and air/fuel map (ecu). |

just to be clear. The ford F150 lightning SVT does not run 12's it 13.2's</td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'> I thought that sounded a little fast...but I didn't know for sure so I didn't say anything. 13.2 is still blazing for a truck...well, for any car for that matter. |

AAAHHHHHAAAA!!! i read in the "Turbo" magazine today about turbo engines. It was comparing the SR20DET to some honda engines or something like that, but neway it was explaining (don't quote me on this) how the water jackets on the heads on a turbo engine r different therefore allowing better cooling capabilities ... although it just said that this made NA engines a little harder to turbo but it was still possible.

that focus drag car isn't really a focus. you cant just keep the body and call it the same car.
as for ford, their cars are very unreliable. anyone who has ever owned one will tell you that. |

my fiance has a ford zx2. it bites the big one. i've put so much money in that car, it's not even funny. I had an escort wagon as a first car. i placed two ten inch subs in the car, turned on the radio...and cracked all the windows..FORD- (F)ound (O)n the ®oad (D)ead or (F)ix (O)r ®epair (D)aily.
