s13 Rubbing Tire on Coils

Hi guys I am rubbing tire on my coil overs and I was wondering if spacers would fix the problem. Also what kind of spacers would be best, because I want them to last awhile.

Spacers would push out your wheel therefore fixing your problem, as long as you purchase a spacer that is wide enough. If I had to guess 5mm is enough for most people if its barely touching.

You want a hubcentric spacer. Only buy hubcentric ones period.

And last but not least dependig on your coilover theres a little black plate that depending on the orentation of how you install them. It moves the coil closer or further from the wheel. That can also help your issue.

You need 4x114.3 hub centric spacers with a 12x1.25 thread pitch. I have these in 15mm.

Thread pitch shouldnt matter as they just slide on. Also that space would work only if he is 4 lug.

True, but I tried some 7mm spacers with factory studs and they didn't thread; even if they did I wouldn't be comfortable with the amount threading that was compromised.

The thread pitch matters if he doesn't want to buy new lug nuts for bolt on spacers, there is a lot of 12x1.5 bolt on spacers.

A 5mm slip on should fix the problem. Don't run anything bigger than 5mm on stock studs. You shouldn't need bolt on spacers at all.

i've ran 7mm slip ons in the past. not a whole lotta thread engagement with a stock stud, but nothing bad ever happened...

I've always heard 7mm was the safe limit for slip-on spacers. But I'd rather just buy wheels & tires that fit.

Most people don't have the ability to buy wheels sized to a specific millimeter. "Fit" is also a broad term. I feel a spacer anywhere from 3-7mm is very acceptable. I personally wouldn't run any bigger than 5mm on stock studs because I too ran 7s and one day on the way to work I lost 5 out of 8 lug nuts on the rear (3 off one side and 2 off the other). Car started shaking really bad so I pulled over. It's a scary feeling finding one lug nut holding on a wheel. On top of that, that lug nut loosened up enough to turn by hand and only had 2 threads under it until it came off. I live in a high construction area though.
