They are designated, with the reclining handle on opposite sides. The "alacantra" they use looks and feels ok. They will fit on Bride rails/sliders. But its not a real bride. I would be more inclined to buy one if it did not say Bride on it and used the cloth material.

there are rarely any aftermarket seats that are designated. That would be hard to stock and not make sense to manufacture. It's the rails that are designated. Almost all aftermarket seats have lever adjustment on BOTH sides. I do recall a few seats like teh Bride Artis and Navi had one shoulder bolster shorter for shifting, etc...

And as far as the right vs left. They are both the same. A bar runs the length of the rear of the seat at the bottom. You lift the bar to tilt the seat forward. Mine also do not say bride but many did not. |

mm maybe youve never tried a real bride seat version of that knockoff
yeah you'll find out how crappy it is but defending it makes sense, wouldnt know any better. matreial is extremely poor quality so is the stitching. id rather rock the craptastic sparco sprint before that decroded pos |

hahahahaha the heated bride copy seat debate. i picked one up in black cloth, no words, black outside dark dark grey center, perfect copy of shape of brix. the ass fits my 34-35 waist perfectly, its like they took the bottom made for jdm female asses and conformed them to my cheeeseburger overhang. the bolstering is soft and shitty of course, the stitching isn't too horrid on mine. i definitely like it more than the alcantra, that shits nasty. but in reality, neither can touch the oldschool brix so meh. but then again i only paid $150 for mine so, its a price thing for sure.

I am not trying to say that these thing are the next best thing to every other seat. But for the money they are pretty good. They hold me in fine while driving and I am loving them compared to the horid OEM seats. For the money they are great. If/when I put a cage in the car they will come out for a real seat that is safer and rated for racing. For most people they serve the role of daily driver/fun seat just fine. If anyone wants to see if they really suck hit me with a PM. I am in Hampton VA for the next day or so and then in Denver Colorado after that. I will be tearing my computer down tommorow and wont answer any PM for about a week after that.

I've driven in a Brix and sat in an Artis before. I've also sat in one of those knockoff seats. Don't remember the brand. maybe OBX? But that OBX was shit for holding. I'd hate to roll over in one. Brix was a little too narrow at my thighs. I like a little space between my legs. Made clutching a little awkward. Artis is more like it. A little more roomier for me (6 foot, 32 waist, skinny build). Sparco Speed was also okay, never owned one. Sits a little lower than the Artis (was in an EK Civic). But, I'm a tall guy. I think its a hit and miss with off brand seats if you order them online. You'd have to actually sit in it (just like any seat) to actually get what you want. A lot of people in Japan use off brand seats as well. Theirs seem to last longer though.

i wouldn't trust knock offs for safety reasons period.
they went cheap on the materials, do you really think they've spent alot of time, money, effort and energy ensuring that it's safe? those knockoff recaro/bride/insert brand here/... may all 'look' or even 'feel' like the real thing, but i would never buy one, i'd rather buy a used REAL seat... |

I have the knock-off bride and REAL bride.
Let's see- the knock-off seat doesn't really compare. The fabric fades after 1 year of driving (sunlight). The padding breaks down quickly and some of it collapses. The reclining mechanism has a lot of play in it. I'll give it to johnny5 though, I bought mine for the same reasons. They are damn cheap and gave me a good year of hard driving in them. Would I buy another one? No...not even for super cheap. They aren't nearly as good as a seat with some stiffer padding (sounds uncomfortable, but hey it's better for turns IMO, way better). Replica is still kickass in turns compared to oem seat. I bought real bride bucket for the 240 after seeing what my replicas did in the supra, but hey either one will work. Both have their plus and minus. Choose wisely billy

I'm thinking about getting some of these Brix II knockoffs just because my stock seats suck bawls so hard. I ws going to get a Buddy club seat new for $380 but I sat in my friends and it just doesn't feel that impressive. It holds well but the material feels like it is too thin and it's already fading. He bought these from another friend of mine who deals directly with buddl club so we know they are real. I used to have a non adjustable bride bucket in that damn fake leather and it held really really well. The stitching was great but it was made for short asian people no my 6'2" ass. It nearly broke my sholders and back everytime I was slamming it in a corner. I loved it though, JDM bling FTW! I'm gonna run these knockoffs for a little while and then sell them when I get another daily driver and start drifting my coupe. I'll update you guys on how they turn out.

Could you guys post where you got your bride knock-off, ebay or toms motorsport? as they might differ in quality/feel (i know its not gonna compair to the real thing but one might be made better) I may get one to get me through, while i focus on the turbo project.

I was thinking of getting a cheapie for the passenger side.
But then agian... I give much less off 150$ worth of shit about how the passenger feels in tweed. ...So it would have to be a 100% rice mod. |

my buddy has BRIX II knockoffs. in blue alcantara.. they are kinda nice.. except for the fact that bride does not make anything in alcantara and the bride stiching on the headrest is super tilted..
i didnt want to put it in his sti, so it became the couches in his room..soon to become the GT4 simulator seats.. we're working on a little cockpit using the wheel. |
