Okay so I've done a little bit of work to my rb and took it out the other day for the first time this spring. And its not building boost. It just goes to 0 on the gauge. I put on a 38mm external gate for the rb25 turbo (yes the internal gate is welded shut) Freddy intake mani and a top mount turbo manifold. Now I'm just running open elbow bc I haven't had time for a down pipe yet. But other then that its got no boost leaks that I can find and one tiny vacuum leak but I would think that wouldn't stop it from building and boost at all. It idles perfect and doesn't smoke at all. Hiccups when you rev but then it smoothens itself out. My guess is somehow I have this wastegate hooked up wrong. But if someone could help that'd be great.

No I don't think so. It doesn't have any shaft play. And I assume it would smoke like crazy.
