New here and need help
Hey Guys I am new to the forum but not new to Nissans esp the S chassis.
I am currently on my 3rd S13 I have owned. I have had a pignose hatch, a beautiful convertible and now own a 91 hatch. Anyways to my problem I am having and I am sure it is an easy fix but would like feedback from you. Basically the car wont start, I put a new 255 in it and ever since then it has been acting like its not getting fuel and now it wont start. I thought I might have messed up putting the pump in but double checked everything last night, pulled it all apart, put it back together and turned the key. The pump primed fine with no problem but then when I went to prime it a second time it did not go. I changed the FP fuse thinking that might be it but it still did not prime. If I turn the car over the fuel pump still will not turn on. Is my pump bad? Could it be something else? |

Double check everything before you do, check the connections going to the fuel pump and the lines, should be able to test the pump with a reachargable drill battery

I checked all the connections last night and they all seemed correct but the testing with the Batt is a great idea, I will do that tonight. Thanks guys I will let you know the outcome.

Look up how to run a relay setup for it. It could just not be getting enough power. You can also run a 12v power direct to the pump just to check and make sure it primes when it gets power. Could potentially save the hassle of buying another pump if it works with direct power to it.

I am getting too much fuel.
When I pull the fuse for the fuel pump the car will start until it runs out of fumes. Once I put it back in it will flood the motor and not start. Now I know the fuel pump does not regulate how much fuel goes into the motor so its either my FPR or the guy I had bought it from upgraded the injectors. Im guessing FPR. Any other thoughts from anyone or am I thinking this through properly? |

Its also throwing code 12.
Could a bad MAF prevent it from starting? I pulled all the injectors put all the same ones in and they are fine. Any suggestions electronicly? The guy swapped the original auto car to a manual and put a 98 motor in it and I think he messed something up. Last edited by turbomr21987; 09-18-2012 at 08:35 AM.. |

starter. FAT vacuum leak. That's it after everything you just mentioned.
Why would your plugs be wet with fuel if your plugs are sparking? Doesn't that sound fucking retarded? Maybe you have leaky injectors. |

Weak spark will easily be over powered by the amount of fuel you say you have going in to the cylinders. Have you checked the spray pattern? If you're getting a stream instead of a fan pattern you have issue with your injectors and they need to be cleaned/tested and/or replaced.
It would also help to note what motor we are dealing with... I'm assuming KA but that doesn't mean anything.

Thanks guys, I will be replacing the plugs and wires tonight as well as the injector o rings just in case if its leaky injectors. These are all easy to replace everything and shouldnt take that long.
Also has anyone heard of the stock FPR not being big enough to regulate the walbro 255 fuel? |

id stick a fuel pressure tester on the fuel line and see what kind of psi your looking at from your pump. have you swapped the maf for a known working maf? when you pulled the fuel rail off and had someone turn the key did any of the injectors leak out of the tip?

I have heard of it making certain vehicles run a little richer, but it was contested by a great many people. It was really 50/50 of who had those problems. Shouldn't make a difference if all your vacuum lines are good to go.
