Blinking light on dash clock

Alright guys I'm still trying to figure out what is causing my blinking clock issue. I had posted this question before a few months ago in a wire issue thread, but I think it got overlooked with all the other issues and I have been dealing with vavle issues since.

Here's the deal. When I turn the key my dash clock immediately starts blinking like crazy and I can hear the H/L RT down relay clicking along with it. I don't understand what could be causing this. Tonight I was trying to trouble shoot the issue so I decided to throw the headlights back on the car to see if the issue was corrected, but thats a big negative also. Any ideas at all???

Also, along with this issue. I have realized that if I turn the key to trouble shoot the problem, but do not attempt to start the engine the car will not turn off. Basicly, I turn the key to on and the regular dash lights come on (like check engine and such) and if I turn the ignition off and pull out the key, the dash and check engine lights will remain on.(although the clicking and blinking will stop) The only way to get the dash to turn off is to put the key back in the ignition and turn the car over. Then it seems to reset it's self and turn off.

Did you just do an SR swap? If so you may have spliced some wires wrong near the battery on the passenger side (S13).

If thats not the case maybe something in the ECU? Check the ECU for unsual light pattern, or if any wires have been fryed.

The car was swapped when I bought it. I picked up the car with Rod Knock and had to replace the engine with a new longblock. When I pulled the engine the wiring was a complete disaster, so I had to rewire and actually solder the harness together. Which wires do you think would be giving me the issue. The car starts and runs, but the only dash gauge that works is the fuel gauge. Other than that everything seems to be running fine.

I would just make sure there are no wires touching each other that aren't supposed to.

If you use just electrical tape to cover the bare wire, somtimes they poke through and touch other things (such as a ground, causing it to short).

Since the other gauges aren't working I'm thinking it might be the ECU plug.
