[RB20]Fried Ecu, Getting no Spark
Ok, I'm really hoping you guys can help me. I really want to start this car already.
[Spark Issue] I just swapped in an RB20DET. I bought a wiring specialties harness for it. For some reason though, four of the plugs would not fit. My CAS Plug, Igniter Plug, Coolant Temp Plug and ECCS Plug. I contacted them and they said its because my RB20 is a redtop?? I told them there no way, this is a r32 silvertop rb20. They responded well the connectors seem to be from a rb20 redtop from their experience. I just say fuck it, can I wire the new harness to my old connectors and they said it should be fine. My question is, Did I wire it correctly, because currently I am getting no spark. Igniter The New plug( Wiring Specialties)----------------Old Plug (Original) 1 Blue/Green---------------------------------------1 Blue/Orange 2 Blue/Black--------------------------------------- 2 Blue/Black 3 Blue/Red------------------------------------------3 Blue/Red 4 Blue/Yellow-------------------------------------- 4 Blue/Yellow 5 Blue------------------------------------------------5 Blue 6 Blue/White-----------------------------------------6 Blue/White Assuming to wire it, you just connect number 1 to 1, 2 to 2 and etc right? If so I did that and I'm still getting no spark? [Fried Ecu Issue] Now this had pisssed me off. Idk what could of had caused it. Every time I would start it, I had no problem with the ecu, but when I had disconnected the fuel pump plug ( the blue connector in the trunk to the fuel pump assembly) I forgot to plug it back in. I put the car in the ON position and I hear a bussing then suddenly smoke. Fried my ecu. Could this had been because I forgot to plug it back in or could this be a wiring problem. Because like I just mentioned it wouldnt buss at all everytime I switched it to on, but the time I tried it with that fuel pump plug not plugged in it buzzed and fried.
