tire size question
I am not very good with tire sizing and need a bit of help.
I have a set of 17x9 front 17x10 +35 all around. Im not sure how they will fit because I still have to do my 5 lug swap. Would a 225 45 front and 235 45 rear be a good choice. By the way the car is a s13 coupe. Will the fenders need to be pulled much ? Any input is appreciated, thank you.

The tire sizes are ok. They will be a little stretched. The rear will be close to the fender. You will have to roll the lip and maybe a little pull. The fronts will not clear coilovers so you would need spacers, I have no idea about stock struts though. Well, that brings up a good point, if you are not lowered you will not have to do anything to the rear fenders.

Just fyi since he did say he's new to tire sizing, 235's on 10's is going to be a moderate/aggressive stretch. Check out the wheel fitment and for contrast the maximum rubber threads. If you want the stretched look you're on the right path but if you're looking for traction you're like 5 sizes too small for those wheels. ^.^

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section. I was tired and about to go to bed when I posted it.
What is the most positive offset a 17x9 front can have and still clear a coilover ? Is the rear close to touching too ? And I know it depends on the wheels but what would guess about clearing a z32 caliper ?

17x9, highest offset you can usually get without hitting coilover is +20. ive got 17x9 +20's up front and they just barely clear. 235's contour nicely into the fender but im going to slightly pull it. also 17x10 +25 in the rear with 255's (which is a stretch) if you dont want a strect on 10's you need to run at least 275's. on a +35 , assuming it clears rear coilovers, a 275 would fit pretty well i think.

When I as was looking for tires for my 18s (8.5 & 9.5), I went to various tire manufacture's websites (Ie. Falken, Yokohama, Bridgestone) and looked at their tire sizing chart. The chart will let you know all about fitment info onto rims. With that said, I went with 215/40/18 FK452 in the front and 245/35/18 FK42s in the rear. The tires that I got were the smallest width tires the manufacture's suggested to put on the rims that I got. So, the tires look stretched and yet give me a lot of grip.

Run a 215/40 on the front with a 30mm spacer and a 225/40 in the rear with a 25mm spacer.Im going to be running a similar set up when i get wheels.

Would 20 mil spacers all around (17x9 +35/17x10 +35) sit right ? I plan on rolling the fenders and pulling slightly in the rear.
How big of a spacer in the front is it safe to run ? I forgot to add, on a 235 45/245 45 tires. ^

I just got finished doing my 5-lug swap this weekend and I put 17x9+22 in the front with a 215/45/17 and they barley clear the coil (like a about a 1/4 inch). I don't know if my fronts cleared my coils, because I used the S14 LCA, that supposedly gives you 5-7mm more effective offset(read conflicting information on this). Just given you my personal experience so take it for what it is worth...

If you're going to be running spacers much more than 5 mm you should go ahead and get extended lug studs (ARP, etc). It's better to be safe than sorry.
P.S. I'm fitting 255s on all four corners with only a slight pump and a wee bit of camber. A roll's a must, though. Wheels are 17x9 +15.

section width / 25.4 = section width in inches x aspect ratio = section height x 2 - rim diameter= overal diameter.
plug and play. use this formula for a non stretched tire. now if you want to stretch it, you can base the tire size off the correct tire size the rim is supposed to have.
