Yeh...my bad guys lol I found out about where/how to get it. Go's to show, don't go on the forum when you've been drinkin.
I'll add though-I've been using GTX in my 350 whp FC, my old chipped and modded E30 325is, my old Lightly modded FC, my old 240, and going to use it in my new S13..My friends are slowly seeing the light...spending $50+ for an oil change you do yourself is ridiculus. GTX FTW!!

GTX sucks ballz.... Once you go redline you never go back... THere is an oil review which is in the chat section which talks about all this....
GTX < Mobile << Royal Purple <<< German Castrol < Redline < Amsoil.... All I have tested with an SR20DET built...... German Castrol Definitely for daily, but Redline and Amsoil for Race... Redline and Amsoil doesn't do well beyond 3000 miles cause its made to be superior in race conditions....

How does GTX suck ballz? If you read the reviews it's actually the best bang for your buck oil. I've used it my whole life and have tracked cars on it..never even a hiccup. And yes I've tested the same cars on Royal Purple, Redline, and Mobile1. There is no difference. The car felt the same on the track and on the street. So why shell out $50+ on oil when you can get GTX for $2.90/qt after tax if you go to Walmart and buy the 5 qt jug. Can't beat it.
EDIT: And any car that is tracked or raced (more importantly higher powered cars) should have the oil changed before and after an event if you want to be totally anal abouit it. I've never gone over 3k miles on the Rx7 with GTX, but have put 5k miles per change on the Volvo daily driver (2.3l Turbo 5 cylinder) The 240 gets a change anywhere between 3-5k miles and that's with frequent beatings

Valvoline Synpower. Best oil on the market. independent tests have proven it. Not to mention royal purple has been discredited A LOT lately. Not to mention the lawsuits.

Redline is an incredible all round motor oil but depending on the application not worth the price tag. For you drifters though, the name says it all. GC is also great, ran in both my cars and both daily driven. AZ is carrying the new gold tinted GC by the way, just as good as the old green. I've seen the link to the BITOG forums around here some where, that forum is all you need to know of today's current oils and what suits best. |

I dont recall him being a scientist or chemist although I could be wrong, but I think it would be allot of trouble for him to prove it to us with facts and examples.
However he does track his car and has nothing to gain by making his comment. He is simply trying to inform fellow zilvia board users from his experiences of tracking his car. I must say that it is kind of bold for someone to make their 1st post on the forum to basically call out someone that has been informative and innovative to us out of the goodness of his heart and for his love of nissans. Oil sample testing equipment is quite expensive. My girlfriends uncle tests oil samples for a living, and brings in samples of his trucks oil and bases when he changes the oil on the results of the test. With that said, without people having access to that kind of equipment their opinions are simply based on how the oil reacts pressure wise with heat, how it retains heat, if they notice sludge build up within their engines when they open them up, if there is any tapping on the start up, and if they have any accelerated wear on their engine internals. |

wiki how multi viscosity oils work. That will explain it allot better than I can. But in a nut shell, the first number= the lower the thinner it is at start up the second number= how much thickness it retains once its heated up all the way. So 0w40 and 15w40 is all the same once its at operating temps, but the 15 may be too thick at startup, especially if you want to go drive right away and if its cold too. |

Brad Penn 20w50 FTW.
good stuff, even though not many people know about it. It had some kind of 2 stroke like additive in it, smells kind of good when it burns, oh and it GREEN! Penn Grade 1 High Performance Oil |

As far as being some sort of profession in physics or chemistry in order to test oil and having up to beat equipment is incorrect. A few minutes of research online will net you plenty of laboratories where you can send your used oil to be tested in ways you've probably never heard of or need to really know anyways. If anyone cares, I've sent my oil to Blackstone laboratories in the past for testing and my own curiosity . Blackstone Laboratories |

I wasnt offended, but Im sure he can tell the condition of his oil by now between the oil temp gauge and oil pressure gauge and how fast it warms up and how much pressure it holds and at what rates.
Proof on his part however would be hard for him to provide cilff notes from my post. |
