Has anyone used the new CX racing sr20 topmount?
Please keep the flame to a minimum. i know its a 50 50 shot with cx stuff but here is a link to the new design.

What's your goals buddy? The issues with tubular manifolds is they are prone to cracking, this can be exacerbated by going with a cheap brand. Just from the picture I cannot see and extra bracing to the runners where the stress cracks occur most frequently.
It probably will be ok for a short time but don't expect it to last.

This is a manifold I welded with my own hands. Compare how my beads are stacked compared to this. Lots of obvious start and stops when they got in a position they weren't comfortable. Basically no argon coverage. Surface rust in the promotional pictures. The 'ol pressed out collector design. |

All people talking who haven't ran the manifold! hahahaha! I use this manifold and it fits great and puts the turbo away from the brake resevoir! manifold didn't crack on me and i was running it at 25 psi for a good while.
Only issue I had was the brace bars they put from the t3 flange to the head flange broke off

i have the new 11 gauge one on my car. putting it on ant taking it off is easy. the only bad part is the wg flange is to close to one of the runners so you will have to space the wg out with another flange. Other than that ive have no problems with it. i lost some lownend and peak tq with the cast pani i had before but i gained it back with this mani. my car is a track only car so i dont know what it will be like for a daily and how long it will last.

Hi there I'm new to this website but I can bump in here and say that this is a really nice manifold for the price. I just received mine yesterday and it beat my expectations!
It is thick and weighs in at 11 pounds..the only thing is that the metal has some blemishes but nothing major. I am no professional welder by any means but I can say that the welds are very nice and it's very well crafted. It has some reinforcements for the wastegate and turbo flange. VERY nice for the price! ^^^HAHAHAHA you're right, you're not a welded and you have no fucking clue what a weld should look like. Looking at that last shot inside the collector, holy fuck that's horrible!!!
Honestly, for people who are looking for a Top Mount manifold, I'd wait for the ISIS one. Enjuku just got done with their prototype and I checked it out first hand. Shit is nicely done and I wanna say close to the quality of my old Mazworx manifold. |

Alright man chill the fuck out if your on a budget than this is perfectly acceptable..I didn't feel like spending 800 on a mazworx manifold just because it has "clean welds" when this will perfectly do the job

Shitty welds are shitty weld, meaning shitty parts are shitty parts. The welds are crap, do you really think its gonna hold itself together? Its okay if you accept the fact that it'll probably break in 6 months. My money says those welds around the collector will go first, itll be the weakest piece since all the heat and weight of the turbo is on it.
And no, I'm not going all ooh-rah for mazworx. All aftermarket manifold eventually cracks, my mazworx cracked too. But that's after beating the living crap out of it with a GT3582R, boosting almost 28 psi, 900* EGT temps for almost 3 yrs. |

Let's pretend that we buy one of each manifold in the world for all engines.
Each one will have a different style, right? And different metals, different fillers, different welding techniques applied, etc... Now take each manifold, toss it in a huge oven and turn the temp up to 1600*F. Watch and wait. Which ones melted? Well, none of them should melt. I mean, you don't purposefully design a turbocharger manifold using materials that melt at 1600*F, right? Or even 1800*F? Or 2000*F? That eliminates situations where incorrect filler is used for instance. Manifolds with incorrect filler material would probably crack in that oven, over time, and no amount of bracing will help. What happens to metal at high temperatures is beyond the scope of this post. What IS within the scope of this post is the point that turbocharger manifolds should not fail from heat alone. Installation, position, and manipulation of the weight of it's accessories is to blame. If you buy a cheap thin wall manifold and you are aware of the fact that it is cheap and thin walled, then there is no reason that it should break unless you install it wrong i.e. you fail to support the turbocharger components properly. Because tossing it in an oven at 1600*F certainly didnt crack it, and the only variables left are weight/position/installation. That includes proper protection from water splashing up from the road, for instance. If you buy an expensive, thick walled, ultra super perfect manifold from a reputable company and it cracks, it cracked for the same reason the cheap one did: it was not installed properly. |

Honestly man I got this manifold because I figured it would last me long enough until I can actually afford a nice quality one but I feel like this thing will hold up just fine
If It cracks oh well I'll just get it reinforced and rewelded |

I bought one once for my KA. It fit alright and held up decent. If I had the money for a nice name brand one I would've went that way for sure though. I'll probably just get a cast manifold next time.

Well just an update on my build..I've been working with my local shop for the past week and a half and the turbo and manifold are finally on but I have a few things I wanna state that made this install one of the hardest I have ever done
- if you plan on having a/c you will have to custom make a braket to relocate the ac compressor because it does not clear one of the runners - wastegate placement is probably the most horrible thing about this manifold because if plan on running a 2 bolt wastegate you will have to route the dump tube over the downpipe and then straight (pain in the a$$)..highly suggest you get a v band wastegate -downpipe has to be custom made because the position of the turbo..highly suggest you get a v band exhaust housing for the turbo.. But other than that the turbo sits nice and I get great response in my opinion |
