I did parts of my hatch flat black a few years ago. And it looked REAL nice at first. But after so long it just starts looking bad.
If you actually know how to use a spray paint can (doing graffiti when your younger really helps) you can get some good results. But it's not gonna beat a nice paint job.

oh yeah I know it wont beat a real paint job, but I want it to look pretty clean till I go with the paint i want. Instead of only painting portions at a time.....

I spray painted my valve cover and it came out really nice. Like everyone says, it's all in the prep. It's good to have experience in graff, errr model cars like HyperTek said.
I think the sideskirts came out looking fresh, too.

I agree that if you prep it properly, then it can come out looking nice.
But it wont last. It should definately only be used as a temporary solution.. In my case, i am doing a s15 conversion because the mounts on my headlights are broken, i have 1 dented fender (in like 4 spots) the corner lights are broken, the bumper is totally hanging on.. <previous owner beat it. but i am giving it tons of tlc I just want a temporary solution because i am doing a widebody fender flare on the rear, and i will need to drive the car in about a month. For about a month. Then it will get the high quality paint it deserves. And yes i will post up a build thread with pics. |
