Scence gas is almost 4$ a gallon where I live and keeps going up I figured I would bring this up. What I want to know is there any kits on the market to run E85 with my Sr20 if not what do I need to do so I can run it. Also if any one is already doing it what are the pros and cons other than saving money at the pump.

I cant see how there would be any kits available for E85 as such, you really just need to ensure your fuel system can cope with the extra fuel demand and have it tuned to suit.

My sr20 hit 100% injector duty with 550cc injectors when we got to 230 kw at the wheels. So for anything over that at least 740cc are needed or to leave room for improvement in future go bigger again.

I dont know your car specs so its hard to recommend injector and pump size but usually you will need bigger injectors before needing a bigger pump. An intank walbro or bosch 040 will be sufficient for moderate power levels.

As for pros and cons I cant think of may cons. You make more power through higher octane rating and being able to run a LOT more timing. Alcohol burns cooler than petrol, you can safely add more boost without the risk of detonation, its cheap, it smells good etc etc

Cons I guess are that you will use 30-40% more of it but the increase in power is worth it I think. I gained 30 kw at the wheels from nothing other than changing fuel and tuning to suit. I have heard it can perish rubber fuel lines but after using it for roughly 4 years I have not run into any trouble.

I was wondering cuz I have herd that it will eat threw gas lines as whell didn't kno if you had to do any thing else and I don't want to fuck up my shit just by experimenting lol

I have all the bolt ons other than the intake manifold stock 370 injectors walbaro fuel pump I'm going to do the top end in a few months and upgrade the turbo get the manafold and bigger injectors I was thinking 555cc but after this I'm not sure now all internals are stock FYI

If you wanna do this to save money on gas I think you will be disappointed. The cost of converting and increased fuel consumption will negate any money saved per gallon.

I had a flex fuel car before and you still save about 30 cents a gallon cuz it got like 28mpg with gas and 24mpg with e85, but even if it was the same total cost but i get more power running E85 then i want to do it to gain tha extra hp

What you're saying is you want to spend about $300 + dollars to save $5 per fill up. Not to mention the fact that you end up burning more fuel which pretty much just evens out. AND you'll inconvenience yourself because you are now limited to filling up at E85 stations only. No more long distance travel for you.

Take it from someone that runs on E85. Don't bother doing it to save gas. It may/will end up getting worse fuel economy. Do it if you want the performance increase.

/\/\/\/\ i agree my earlier example was my track only car I would not currently run E85 on my street car as its too inconvenient. Where i live we dont have many options to refuel so yes no long trips.
