The actual engine mounts (piece of medal from the block that adapts to the motor mounts) are manufactured from Zerolift. They are built to adapt a 1JZ Engine, S-Chassis Motor Mounts, and the OEM S-Chassis Crossmember. The engine mounts cost about $300-350, I really can't recall, then the Avid S-Chassis mounts were around $200. Oh and today all my oil cooler stuff showed up. Just waiting on a filter stud from Toyota! Last edited by aled; 05-25-2011 at 04:45 PM.. |

I feel like you spent half the money in your build on AN fittings and lines hahaha
Great build man, work is pretty clean!

Finished exhaust. 3" Downpipe to a oval pipe, then crosses behind the transmission mount and straight out the back with 3.5" As of last week, the car runs. Terribly. Had to use the factory ECU, which allowed for the engine to start. However, with the current injector size, it idles like a cammed mustang xD. Since the AEM EMS is for a 2JZ, I need to re-wire the fuel injectors. 2J's use a Sequential firing fuel injection system while the 1J's use a Batch firing system. I'm in the process of getting this sorted out. Tune date set for June 20th. Hope I make it; thanks for all the comments, I'll be sure to keep everyone updated with progress. More pictures and videos to come. |

I have another question. Does the r154 tranny need adapter for the knob to go into factory location and is there way to up make the A/c work? Will walbru 255 pump by good for this swap or do i need to get a custom fuel system going.

Been spending a lot of time trying to get the car finished for the original June 20th tune date. I pushed it back a week since I need couplers and clamps still x__X.
Running! Like crap. Needs a tune really bad. Also need to figure out the issue of the timing belt creeping forward on the cam gears. I've already pulley everything apart and gotten tighter tension on the belt, but it still crept forward. Any ideas? When I did all the maintenance on the engine, I replaced everything except the tensioner. I was able to reset the tensioner just fine and didn't think anything of it. |

Not true. If you get a 1J from a soarer, they have a shifter extension on the transmission from the factory. Save yourself like $300 extra. Build looking sick! Turbo is close to my power goals too. I want to run a 57 trim t4 kit from driftmotion. 1jz's are bomb. |

The engine should run sequential no problem.. There really is no difference in the sensors from the 1jz to the the 2jz.. you have one cam sync.. i always use the back plug on the head for cam sync.. and the trigger is 12 teeth... same exact thing for 2jz... so that isn't your problem.. Trig is 12 teeth but it spins double the speed of the cam so It should be set up as 24 teeth in the ecu. For the timing belt, make sure that the word toyota is facing you not upside down, when you stand in front of the motor..
I used to have a 1jz s14.. you are going to have a lot of fun with your car when you get it running. I made 458 at 21psi.. but it was really rich. I tuned the car with my friend without a wide band on the dyno, stupid wide band decided to take a crap that day. I drove the car like that daily. Sold it like 2yrs + ago and I found out that the same motor is still running strong. I didn't wire a AEM in that car I was using a EMS Stinger ecu, it only runs on batch fire anyways, but I have wired a 1jz sequential before with a EMS 8860. I have made a few full harness's for 1jz and 2jz.. Hope some of this info helps.. Wish I could go over and help you out lol. |

What are your power goals? Are you on 93 or e85? -6 is pretty small line. Also that looks like a CB power steering line kit, Did everything fit well and have good maneuverability for routing? Also what size line did you use for your oil cooler?
Looks like fun, I have a 1jz and all the swap parts lined up; wife just said I am not allowed to do it til we get a new house :-( |

CB power steering kit worked just fine. The lines are plenty long, I just tucked the high pressure line along the frame rail to the rack. Oil Cooler is -10 sizing. Still have not installed it yet, as I need to find the best mounting point, and make brackets. |

Good deal, I plan on going for 600whp in mine on e85; I have a spare 2j block for when it pops to throw in. Also the ps kit is good to know that there is ample line, I was thinking about using their reservoir/fittings and building my own lines. What are you going to use your car for? I plan to on highboost mainly cruise and be a highway monster and on low boost do some road courses. I am going to sell my Autronic when I switch to the JZ setup and get a vipec so I may do boost regulated gearing by then though. |

Intake pipe is finally on, as well as the catch can installed. SPL Arms installed! This week I should be mounting the newly painted aero, getting an alignment, and replacing the Chase Bays power steering reservoir with their improved baffled design. An alignment and wheel balance is in store as well; going to try and make Midwest Drift Union Round 3 next weekend. |

Oval section is made out of a 2.5'' tubing that was cut; then a 1'' wide portion was added in. Thanks for the compliments everyone! Getting the last fitting tomorrow for the Oil Temp gauge, and picking up the aero from paint Friday! |

I'm running into clearance issues with my 1JZ S14 exhaust as well. Oval pipe is brilliant!
