Questions about 240SX's.. considering purchase
Hello, new member here.
I recently sold my 90 H/C/I/E Mustang GT and my daily driver 94 Olds Cutlass Supreme is dying. I need a new car. Are all 240SX's 4-cyl? I always thought they had an inline-6 Turbo (what I really want) ... if not, what kind of engine swaps can I perform? Also, are the newer coupes (not the hatchback) RWD?? That is a definite plus. Thanks everyone! |

A 2jz would be nice, as a Supra is my dream car, but I bet that swap costs a ****load. RB is a 6, correct? |

read that thread 2jz is like RB swap basically WAAAADS of cash (though 2jz would be a TAD 'easier') easiest? s13 is definately cheaper but both are VERY easy to mod yeah 2jzgte is inline 6 twin turbo (RWD), as is the RB26dett (and AWD) |

if you really want a I6 turbo, get a s13 and swap in a RB20 or RB25. Both are fairly uncommon, but been done before.
Both s13 and s14 are very easy to mod, however s13 is probably cheapest to mod and easiest to find parts for (at least for USDM).

If you really want an turbo I6...and you will be in need of a car soon, you should just buy a car like a Supra, or any vehicle equivalant to it. Swapping an RB or a 2JZ into a 240sx may end up costing as much as a supra anyway. Also, if there are any types of emissions in your state, the RB or SR won't pass emissions....
Just some things to consider

I've been debating a big truck (I live in Ohio, winter sucks) or something along the lines of a 94-97 Honda Accord. Someone on the Supra board I visit mentioned a 240SX |

Big trucks are that much better to drive in the snow. Out here it's always the big trucks I see off on the sides during the storms :P Not that I have anything against big trucks, people just gotta learn how to handle them.
I have never seen or heard of a 2jz swap into a 240sx. . . Frikkin' Toyota and their frikkin' hard to say motor codes The 240sx itself is a very reliable car. As always though, expect downtime if you are modding it or swapping motors (particularly less common motors).
