hi y'all
i just moved back to cali to live and i bought my 240sx from atlanta georgia, i was wondering if anyone know what the process is goin to be like to get a tag in cali, i am especially worry about the emission, i'm not worry that i wont pass but nothing on my car is carb legal so i need to know any information possible, i dont mind the paper work but i can not afford to buy everything for my car over again
please help me out, i know there is a lot of members on here that are in the bay area, so holla y'all

i just got my car pulled over and have to go to ref now. i only have a ka with intake header n exhuast. but my exhuast is loud. hotshot headers project silvia test pipe and buddyclub 3in exhaust. your not that safe in cali. CHP sucks, but they just doing their job , however it is not that effiecent when there another guy in a surburban going 100mph+ on the freeway in front of me in the rain, but i lucked out n got pulled over for modified exhaust

i hear that california has a vision inspection on the engine bay, meaning they going to check the engine bay to see if u did any modification, and if there is u'll fail the emission automatically, i need to know also if there is shop that i can work with and or an emission place that is lient enough, i'm not worried that my car will fail emission but i have the AIV removed on my car, my intake not carb legal, my exhaust is loud, and my engine bay definitly not "stock" any more, any help pleaseeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW my car is stock with bolts on and removed fan, no header, but loud assss exhaust i'll work on that later, i need it to pass emission

visual inspections.. most places arent leniant about it unless you introduce them to your friend ben.

Okay it’s been years since I’ve had to legalize an out of state car. You’re best bet is to put it all back to stock unless everything you have is carb legal, and you can prove it. You’re not going to have anybody on a open forum tell you where they get there illegal smog done, so don’t ask. You will not be lucky enough to find a place that will be “lenient” and depending on the year and mileage you might have to go to a smog test only station. Other than that I can’t think of anything else. I also remember having to weigh a car, but you probably won’t have to do that. I did it for a dealership so it’s different. Have fun and good luck.

I was told by a real life friend that it helps to know Chinese. Go to a chinese place and make sure you can speak chinese.
