Stock '95 S14. Car won't warm up. I thought it was the thermostat (as that's almost always the case in these situations) so I replaced it with an OEM Nissan thermostat. Car still won't warm up. Am I overlooking something else that's preventing the car from warming up? Searched around and couldn't find an answer.

Is the heater blowing hot air?

If the thermostat is indeed operating as intended it may be a faulty temp sensor. There are two of them. one for the gauge and one for the ECU to help control fuel ratios. If you car runs rich check both.

use laser thermometer to check actual running temp, if hot replace your sensor, if not check the sensor...if not hot thermostat or possibly fan clutch

Could also be a bad ground. Sometimes brand new thermostats stick open, but an open thermostat will still let the car warm up, it just takes a lot longer.

Running a stock gauge or after market?

Never trust an s-chassis oem coolant temp gauge.
