Hey guys,

So spoke with Sikky on their AC kit for the LSX swaps on my S14. I have two issues with their recommendations...:picardfp:

1. When I asked about recommended freon charge, they told me to reference a 2002 Camaro(my year motor) for the correct amount which is 24oz or 1.5lbs. Having a good amount of hvac knowledge, I am confused as I would assume the amounts would vary with the size differences of lines, condenser, evaporator between an 02 Camaro and my 95 S14. Has anyone installed the kit and has it working? If so what amount did you use?

2. The LS engine uses a pressure switch to toggle the clutch on the compressor on/off. When I asked them about this they told me that they recommend looping(completing the circuit) of the AC pressure switch. My compressor will then run constantly and never cycle like it should (obviously only when AC is requested of course). The stock pressure switch is a threaded end that would go in a hardline. Does anyone have any recommendations on what to do in order to get it to cycle?

Thanks guys

1: if you have hvac knowledge, then wouldnt you just hook up gauges & monitor the amount of freon your putting in against the pressure's your reading on the gauges?
(i filled up my system with what was recommended for a camaro)

2: if you're running an f-body camaro, early vette or GTO compressor then its a variable compressor & doesnt cycle on & off constantly like other vehicles with fixed compressors. That's what the pressure switch/sensor is for. If anything gets out of line it will then disengage the clutch.

I believe in this application you would use the wire that originally went to the Nissan A/C compressor (located on driver side inner fender?) and wire that in to the Chevy A/C compressor to engage/ disengage the A/C compressor clutch. At least that's where my mind logically goes when I try to make sense of this kind of set up.

1. I of course would do this regardless, but in my opinion when putting out a product such as this the research would have been done. Thank you though for clarifying that the 1.5lbs worked fine. How much PAG did you use?

2. So you did loop your system and have had no issues with this?

Was this part of the chassis harness? I think I might have removed most of the harnesses. My stock camaro harness was trimmed of all the unnecessary items. If all else fails, I might just have to run my own wires from the button inside the cab.
