Need help with my S14. running out of ideas what could be the cause of why the ecu sending the injectors to open almost 75% in idle which causes to running too rich.
Coolant temp sensor, knock and maf were been replaced. Ecu was replaced as well. All the wiring/ harness was pulled out and re did.
Fuel pressure is in 42 at idle
No ecu error codes or fault.
Car starts right up and quick response on throttle.
I replaced the whole set up using s13 ecu, harness and maf and did the same thing.
I'm using the data scan and the readings on
Injectors -8.12
Airflow - 1.6
Water temp 179 deg
Rpm 800
Tps -.48
Timing 15 deg

running sr maf? if so switch to z32 and get enthalpy tune

yes running everything stock. But before I do anything else I'm trying to figure why I am having this issue.
Thanks

O2 sensor????????????

My guess is you are running the wrong S14 SR MAFS. Do yo have a zenki or kouki engine set/ecu? Because they each use a different sensor which are not compatible.

It's an SR20 S14 and yes im running correct MAF.
Thanks

Why are you thinking 02 sensor?

have you tried replacing?

Are you sure that the injectors match the tune?
OEM Tune = OEM injectors
ROM Tune = Upgraded Injectors

sr runs rich naturally with stock maf...dunno about 75% like you have but...

8.12mS at idle (750ish RPM) is only 5.07% Duty Cycle. even if you are idling in the heavens at 1,100RPM it would still land you at 7.44% how'd you get the 75% figure?

So just out of curiosity is the car even running badly or did you just think it was rich? Do you have a wideband?

Here is what I see with the data scan.

I'm assuming its 75% because of the voltage i'm getting from Injectors which is 8.2 volts.
Maybe I'm assuming wrong :picardfp:

you are absolutely assuming wrong. if your car is truly running rich (measure with lambda sensor) and your injectors are at 8.2mS at idle it's either A) your injectors are not the ones the ECU is tuned for. or B) Mechanical error (leaky injector, injector O-ring, FPR, Sparkplug with closed gap etc etc)

After changing all the recommendations I was told to do same issue. Last thing I need to change is the block. :picardfp:
Here'a a video of the data scanner. I even tried the scanner on a different car with SR and the injectors read normal. So something is definitely not right :rant2:

Finally figured it out!!!
Intercooler is plugged up.
Connected straight pipe no intercooler and bam data scanner read what it was suppose to read.
Thanks for everyone that gave me ideas as to what to look for.

So looks like problem is still there.
So when I connect air intake set up with no intercooler car runs / idles fine and data scanner reads correctly. Once I re-installed intercooler and piping back car starts smoking, sputtering, and data scanner again reads
" Injectors -8.12" So now I'm totally lost again. Only other thing I can replace would be the intake manifold everything else was changed. :picardfp:

So you fixed it, put the offending parts back on without figuring what's going on, and now you want to replace other parts....
Okay, knock yourself out.

Bet you have a puncture somewhere in your intercooler, causing a boost leak.
If you have leak in your intercooler, it would definitely cause you to run rich.
pressure test your intercooler, might have a puncture somewhere, or the couplers might be bad.

I'm with him. It's a boost leak. Take your intercooler off and take it to a shop to get tested. I can almost guarantee you have some leaks in the core. Most people forget to check for boost leaks. Always start with the basics (in this case, since it's a turbo-charged car, check for boost leaks).

I forgot to post this pic but this is what I've seen last couple oil changes. And at the moment car is not even driven much. Mostly just test driving it.

Stop running the car, you spun a bearing. The engine is dead and absolutely will need a rebuild.
