So a couple months back at a drift event I went off course and cracked my last intercooler. Car didn't run. Got a new intercooler and piping and BOV (a greddy knockoff), tightened everything down, car starts now but as it warms up the idle stays high (around 1,700 rpm) and if I tap the throttle it will get higher and then begin to fluctuate from about 2,000 to 1,500 and back up. It'll do that continually no matter throttle input or temp. Haven't driven the car as it's not street legal ATM but idle is definitely messed up. It's a bone stock Blacktop SR and ran great before I went off track.

Also maybe good to note. When I went off track and got towed back, I unplugged the MAF so I could start the car and pull it onto my trailer to make it home but plugged it back in as soon as the car was fixed.

I've already tried unplugging the TPS and plugging back in, still idles high. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The issue is high idle?

High idle is caused by vacuum leak. Airflow controls idle speed.

Do a pressure test, find the leak. If you dont find any leaks, adjust the idle valve (IACV) and make sure the throttle body is fully shut (not bent or anything).

In severe cases high idle can be caused by excessively advanced ignition timing. So check the timing if you get a chance.

Thanks for the reply man. I did narrow it down to a few boost/vacuum leaks from hoses that the previous owner never put hose clamps on so they could pop off with the slightest tug. The idle has gone down significantly but is still around 1,300 rpm when it should be more around 750-800 so there's probably more leaks. I'll try a pressure test and hopefully that'll find my problem and then check the iacv
