1995 240sx - 1995/1996 S14 Zenki SR20DET VTC Notch Top w/WC ECU.

Engine cranks. Injectors spray. Ignitor & Coil packs test ok. I swapped the ignitor & coil packs over to my S13 and it starts right up. I tried a known working replacement ECU - no spark. Test power from the ECU to Ignitor - ok. Test power from Ignitor - Coil Pack Harness - ok. Test grounds @ Coil Pack Harness - slight resistance. Run dedicated ground wires to the coils - no spark. Hook jumper cables to engine/chassis to create ground - no spark.

Tested ignition relays. Checked all fuses. I'm completely lost.

Car has a Blitz Turbo Timer installed. Could that somehow be cutting out spark? My only thoughts at this point are ripping out the TT. Re-wire the engine bay/engine. Or rip out the harnesses all together and buy a Wire Specialty setup.

Any advice or ideas on how to proceed will be greatly appreciated!

ecu, harness, cas, grounds, igniter/coils, thats about all there is. You shouldn't be cranking it though. Confirm spark by spinning the CAS by hand, you should always have a spare handy for this. In other words, you should be able to initiate a spark without the engine present. Just the harness on the floor, the ecu, igniter coils, and the cas spun while powering the ecu up should do the trick.

seems like you verified everything but the cas. It might just seem like the injectors are going; they could be spraying incorrectly due to a mangled cas disc, and missing the queues to spark.

Correct. At this point I'm just assuming the CAS is fine because its communicating with the ECU to tell the Injectors to dump fuel. I wasn't sure if it could malfunction in a manner that would allow the Injectors to work but not allow for spark.

In case anyone cares... I got tired of trying to decipher what the previous owner did with the wiring. Or how he re-routed the battery into the trunk etc... So I've let it sit until now.

I've began re-running & re-doing all the power/ground wires for the battery system. So for the time being I'm removing the battery from the trunk and putting it back up front.

When I removed the ignition harness from the engine I found it was damaged so I've picked up a Yashio aftermarket harness. Also got a Wiring Specialties Engine Harness. So hopefully within the next week it'll be running.

Hey Man did u find what was wrong with ur car? I think i got excatly same problem and cant figure it out? :/

Technically no. I never bothered to rip open the factory engine harness to figure out what was damaged. Something was causing connectivity issues @ the ignition relay. One minute it would have power, the next it wouldn't. Or it would just short out the relay.

Removed the factory harness & installed the wiring specialties harness & she fired right up.

Good 4 you :) i think i must check relays again, is there any fuse for ign relay? Cant find a straight answer anywhere?

Yes. There is a 30A Igntion fuse in the fuse box in the engine bay. The Ignition relay is near the ECU in the kick panel along with the ECCS relay.

Okay, still doesnt work:/ why my rpm meter doesnt jump when crank? It should right?

The rpm needle doesn't bounce or jump at all while cranking. Not on the SR20 in either my S13 or S14. Needle doesn't move until the engine is actually engaged & running.

Have you tested for power @ the Ignition & ECCS Relays? Have you tested for power at the Ignitor? Have you tested for power going into the Coil pack harness? Have you tested the Ignitor & Coil Packs themselves? Have you tried a 2nd, known working ECU? Have you tested the ignition relay or replaced it?

You are in Finland? I assume you have a 200sx with a factory done engine setup etc... Or is it a 180sx with a swapped 200sx SR20 etc? If swapped, you could have a damaged or an incorrectly wired harness?

Car is- 96 200sx with sr20det blacktop original, did replace all 3 relays near ecu and they all seems to "click" when tries to crank. Prev owner said that someone stole radio from that car and it havent been running since that, but i didnt find anything weird about radio wirings. Ignitor and alternator are new, and one thing im not sure for, that on the top of coil there are markings - + and E, when i turn ign on, that E pin shows 12v and + pin seems to be connect to ground?

Since you mentioned the stereo was stolen the only thing that comes to mind is the NATS system... "Security system" which may have engaged & is now stuck on etc... Have you tried installing a new stereo & hooking all the wires back up?

Do all the electronics for the car work? Dash, Heater, Lights, Blinkers, Horn etc etc? Do you get any odd or funny chime sounds when opening the driver side door. Or when putting the key into the ignition & turning?

Worst case, There is like a 200A or 300A main fuse. If one of the wires from the stereo arched/grounded out or something it may blown the main fuse. But if you have power to everything else, it won't be the fuse.
