Needing some input guys. Trying to figure out a situation I have going on right now with completing this s15 sr swap into my s13. Harness is freshly made and tested so I know I'm okay there. But the Injectors are not firing when the CAS Is installed(yes I have it timed correctly) but if the key is in the on position and I turn the CAS by hand the injectors will hit. Took the valve cover off and watched the cam turn the sensor so I know it's making contact. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. **Also smelt the ecu getting hot and took it apart and noticed burn marks, not sure if this is the cause or the problem I have caused this.

SO when you turn the CAS by hand you said the injectors hit. like your getting a voltage to the connector or your are seeing fuel come out of the injectors. Have you had your injectors tested? are the stock or upgraded? IF your ECU has burn marks that's is NEVER a good thing. I would check to make sure you are getting voltage to the injector connectors. Next if you are I would see if you are getting fuel coming out the injectors. do you have the right fuel pressure?

Haven't tested for voltages yet. When I refer to them hitting I'm talking about the audible click they make when the injector fires. I'm getting fuel to the rail but I have yet to pull the rail to check and see if the injectors are actually spraying. The injectors are stock 480cc. Yea I knew the ecu wasn't a good sign but before I put another in and risk damage I was trying to see if I could pin point a possible cause if the ecu had been damaged while cranking, but it could have been bought that way.

Pulled the rail, injectors are spraying when CAS turned by hand but not when installed and motor being cranked

I would say that the injectors aren't getting power

It's just odd that they are firing when the CAS Is turned by hand though. Wouldn't that mean they are getting power, or what. What in your opinion is the next step i should take?

I would verify that all injectors are wetting power then I would check the signal wire to make sure he ecu knows when to fire the injectors

what strikes me as odd is you say when turning the cas by hand... are you removing it from the head to do that? oR using a spare. A spare that fires the injectors while the original does not... obviously the original is bad.

If the same one fires the injectors when out of the head then its obvious in that case that the camshaft isnt turning it in the head.

See that's the thing lol, I have 2 CAS, both fire it. First I used my spare and plugged it in and turned it by hand and seen it fired the injectors. Next I assumed the CAS in the head was bad so I pulled it and turned it by hand and it also triggered the injectors. So I pulled the valve cover and reinstalled the CAS properly and watched the cam turn the sensor but no injectors fire... has me completely puzzled man. I don't understand why it fires when you turn it by hand but will not while it's in the head.

it doesnt matter who spins it. the same thing happens. Perhaps the wiring is faulty.

That's what I'm saying, if it spins in the head(which it does) then it should fire the injector because it fires by hand. If it had faulty wiring wouldn't it not fire by hand either not just failing to fire while in the head. Is there any way the motor could be grounding out the signal when it's installed somehow?

It's possible that the angle when out of the car puts stress on the wires, long stretch!

OK are the spark plugs firing, when cas in or out of engine?
If you haven't removed the rail to verify the injectors are indeed not firing, do that and check for spark the same way.
If this is truly a no fuel problem and not a no start problem, I be back to help with that, timing.

I pulled the rail and spark plugs, when cranking the engine with the coils out the engine is getting spark, but the injectors are not firing. When the rail is out the injectors are spraying when CAS is being turned by hand but not when it's being cranked. It's a tucked harness so it is a tight squeeze, I'll double check to make sure the pins in the connector are staying put.
