SR20.. I have a coolant leak from one of the hoses at the bottom of the block on the exhaust side. http://i.imgur.com/771LBat.jpg

By the looks of things previous owner knew about it and put a piece of plastic and wire over where it is leaking..

What size hose is that and is it a big job? where does the other end of the hose connect to? Seems to be leaking a lot.. puddle under the car if it sits, filled the radiator and reservoir , went for a drive, let the car sit overnight and it seems to be empty again :confused::facepalm::down:

Are you sure that's a coolant line pictured on top? Looks like placement for a turbo oil return line. Factory oil return line also had heat insulation wraped and was twistwire secured, but your missing the metal clip shield thing that goes over the whole bit

At this point it seems to me you are leaking from a turbo coolant feed line or fitting(s), that freeze plug above it doesnt appear to be weeping or anything in the picture

OR

I wanted to believe it was.. First time working with this 240 and unfortunately I bought it swapped so not sure whats been done..

Exhaust side where would be a good spot to look for a leak? Take the heatsheild off the turbo and check fittings? Easiest way would be from underneath? or have to remove the exhaust manifold....

There is either a Turbo coolant hose that runs behind the head above the transmission bell housing that can leak, or the hose that goes from the turbo to the fitting on the block right underneath the exhaust manifold

Just have the engine running and get underneath the car to try and find it. That hose in your picture is the turbo oil return. And it is wrapped, from the factory, with heat shielding material.

I say it's getting blown back from further forward...plus one that's the oil return, run it and look for leaks

Any way you can possibly do it really. Probably from the bottom like how you took the original picture
