Dose anyone know what kind of gear box is on a stock rb25 gtst? Dose it have brass synchros or steel? Is it a " servo box " or a " Board warner box "??? Been searching for a few days but no luck so far. Used to have a pdf on the whole car in english but cant %$#@#* find it on my comp. Waaaaack!

You mean Borg Warner? No, it's a Nissan transmission. It uses brass synchros. Nobody uses steel synchros. It would be a dog-box at that point.

yea miss spelled borg. Trying to get my learn on the trans. Was told to find out what kind of syncro it has to determine gear oil. Read on a few forums what to use but some contradicted the other so wanted to be sure. And its def not a straight cut gear box lol. Would be kinda kool but loud as &^$%! Any suggestions on gear oil for the rb25 gtst trans??? I was just gunna go with redline MT-90 GL-4. I have some redline 75W90 GL-5 but I was told not to put a hypoid gear oil ( GL-5 ) in the trans.

I tried a few different oils but i think AMS OIL 75-90 Manual transmission fluid works best..

Uses GL-4. Don't use GL-5

GL-5 will break down the brass synchros. GL-4 is recommended for that trans. I run MT-90 in my RB25 trans. It is kind of notchy though but I beat on it and it's on my track car so I don't care.
