Hey guys i have an sr20det redtop. i cant seem to figure out what happened to my car. Just recently i noticed my car has had a few rough idles when i bring my car to a complete stop. What happens is i will go to first second third then i see a red light. Third second neutral. And when its in neutral it drops to 500 rpm but if i blip the throttle it goes back up to 1100 which is where i set it for it to run stable. It doesnt always do that but it does sometimes and im starting to become concern it could be something big. Please help.

A couple things, your idle is too high you mask vacuum leaks with an idle that high. 1100rpm idle will cause the ecu to close the iacv from the non standard position, once the ecu learns this position its not going to matter when you come off throttle and addition air is sucked in because the that added air wasn't metered so you'll stall or you end up with more air and fuel by blipping the throttle so you'll have to either take off again or keep blipping the throttle.

Your timing is most likely not right as well, do a boost leak test, and then set base idle and timing.

Best case its just a sticking iacv.
You can find out while trying to adjust base idle and timing.

Well the thing is the idle control valve was set to off by a mechanic that knows alot about the car. He said the rpm was set there because the engine was built to run lean. But even with driving i have never seen it happened before. Ive done a boost and vaccum test just a while ago and they said its running fine so it must be something small. I thought about it could be a external fuel leak or something
