I have an S13 that I have swapped an s14 sr20de into a friends car, basic maintenance has been done to the sr (coolant temp sensor intake gaskets, belts, plugs and wires. etc)
The swap went smoothly, Harness was converted by Yury @ Wiring Specialties, started up fine just had idle issues. Which were corrected after hooking up my consult cable to it and adjusting the tps. which was out of range
My issues with the motor is it acts like it doesnt want to start, and you have to feather the gas to keep it alive. similar to a vacuum leak. I sprayed carb cleaner anywhere that would possibly be a leak prone spot. checked hoses and everything is capped off where it should be.
When I checked the ignition timing at a cold start since it wont stay running and it was way out @1k Rpm if you adjusted the timing to the 2nd to last indention it would start sputtering and die. adjust it back out and it will do the same.
Ive cleaned the maf and i changed coolant temp sensor and still no change. I dont know what could possibly cause this issue as I am baffled There are no codes showing up.
Another issue ive had with this is the iacv you cannot change the idle if you do the procedure it says, the screw doesnt do a thing either all the way in or out.
This isnt my first swap by far but this swap has been the most complicated due to lack of information on the swap itself
I will add information on this the more i dig into it. I just am baffled at the moment and i have been fooling with different things for about 3 months now.
