Alright, not sure if this is the proper section to put this thread or not so mods move at your discretion....

Ok, so to keep the story short, my sr threw a rocker, broke it and snapped 2 valves trashing my motor. Subsequently, this carnage also traveled to my tomei turbo kit shitting all over my turbine wheel. Was hoping it didn't go that far, but it did....

Main question is does anyone know any place in this world to get a damn replacement wheel/shaft to get this turbo back up and going. The number on the garret tag comes up as a 2871r generally. The chra (minus the obvious wheel damage) is perfectly fine. I've rebuilt many journal bearing turbos before, so of course I just dove in balls deep and disassembled the turbo. I've found a few replacement turbines for generic gt2871's, the only thing they're missing is a thicker portion on the shaft butting up to the turbine piston ring/turbine area. This portion has a groove cut into it that rides on 8 steel ball bearings (of which promptly ended up in my hand after tapping the shaft out). Now, looking closely at the shaft and the added piece on mine that I'm referring to, it appears to be pressed on or just generally separate from the shaft itself (i realize I'm saying shaft entirely to much, get your mind out of the gutter..lol). Kinda like it could come of somehow. I don't have have torch handy, but am definitely debatin heating the shit out of it to see if thermal expansion will get it loose.

So if anyone has any experience with this, a little help would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise I'm gonna say fuck it, make it a toilet paper roll holder and go efr lol.

I mean if you are gonna make a toilet paper dispenser out of it any why not at least try to heat up and press said part off. Worst case you need a new tp dispenser best case you can rebuild your turbo!

Your logic is sound my friend, just trying to see if anyone has any experience in this neck of the woods.
