Long Story Short: Dumped lots of money on block/head work. Tightening Head down with ARP studs. Stripped the threads in the block.

I understand the Pulsar uses 12mm headbolts instead of the 11mm. Rethreading the block for the 12mm is no problem for me. However, the head bolt "sleaves" in the head would need to be drilled out to allow for the larger studs. It was brought to my attention to be concerned with water jackets.

The Question: Is it safe to drill the head on the S13 SR20DET to allow 12mm head studs?

My google-fu is failing me on this topic. Thanks for the assist.

People drill and re-thread for 1/2" ARP's. I don't see why 12mm would be any different.

You could be a fool like me and spend $450 on a full time-sert kit, pricey but a very very nice kit, and very easy to do as well just takes time
