I tried searching but could find the information i was looking for. Since the harbody pickups have the ka engine, could i use the 5 speed transmission out of one of those in my s13? I thought i read somewhere that I could, but can't seem to find it now. Thanks in advance.

Google says the 240 trans is longer.

d21 trans will be too short.

Theres about a 5in difference between the 240 auto and manual already.

So know one knows for sure if the ka truck 5 speed transmission will work in a 240sx? There are no other s13 or s14's in my area for parts, but the local wrecking yard has atleast half a dozen Nissan pickups.

Sure doesn't look like it will work.

Yea. Thank you i just stumbled across the same images on my break at work. I guess i can be done but probably not worth the effort.

I've seen an sr20det swapped into a hardbody nissan. Used an automatic though.

Had to make motor mounts too, welded em in. Ran pretty good, but that old redtop T-25 just doesn't push the truck like it does a 240sx, especially in front of an automatic.

I think it went 14's or 15's at the track with stock 7psi of boost.
And I remember the hardest part of the swap was getting the transmission to shift properly. It had issues from day 1. Finally got it 90% sorted by using the transmission computer from a 1991 240sx.

Anyways to the point- since when is transmission length an issue? make a mount, make a driveshaft, make a cut, or don't trouble it /thread
