I have a s13 redtop sr20det..just upgraded to a 2871r .
after installing the turbo i made sure everything started and idled properly with the stock sr maf.
So then i install a z32 maf, change the safc hotwire settings to 2in 6out. Start the car and it is really rough and running lean (reading sideband) and soon dies. I then tried almost every hotwire combination i could come up with but nothing made much of a difference.
Unplugged the maf and the car idles fine
I assumed its a bad maf sensor so i bought a new (verified working) one today . Same problem when i installed it on the car..
Resorted to playing with the hotwire settings some more..for some reason i can get the car to idle using 6in 2out..(not 2in 6out like it should be on my setup)
could the safc be wired incorrectly (came with the car)
although i get it to idle ..it immediately dies when i press the throttle
any ideas why this could be happening?
i have a nismotronic ecu on the way so hopefully if i can't get this running with SAFC ill have it running with the new ecu
thanks for any help you can offer!

Going to try wiring a new pigtail for the maf. Maybe something is backwards
Can't figure out why 6in 2out is working for me

If there's any other info I can give that would help let me know.

I would just wait until the new ECU comes in. SAFC is supposed to be used to fine tune things. by using it to run that MAF you are just tricking the ECU into running decent. it just alters the signal coming in from your MAF and doesnt change any other variables about your tune. I know people run them for a while and their cars run but not correctly and to their full potential. Especially if you already have an ECU on the way just do it right the first time and youll be glad you did in the long run.

Totally agree with above.
