Yes I have searched, but haven't found anything like this, so please hear me out.
I bought an s13 with a red top swap and it ran perfectly fine but had a massive exhaust leak between the turbo and manifold. So I bought a new manifold and all the gaskets and it has taken me about a week total in time trying to get it all out and back in. Well I finally got it in and now for some odd reason the car will only crank. I didn't touch anything other that had to do with it running or not... I have checked for spark and fuel, and I have both. Bought new plugs just because and it still doesn't start. The only thing that I did was a catch can delete because it doesn't fit with the new manifold. I just ran a tube from the T on the valve cover to the port on the side of the block. I'm really confused at to why it won't start, any help would be great. One thing that bothers me is that on the driver side on the back of the block there is a plug that is just grounded to the block, and is not plugged in, but since I didn't do the swap (and there are a few plugs that have always been undone) I can't remember if I unplugged it from anything, and there doesn't seem to be a place for it to plug in. I'm really confused...

Check the ground on the back of the block. I cant remember off the top of my head, but I think has to do with the coils. It could be your problem.

Also double check the CAS, you might have shifted it while pulling out the manifold.

I would start by checking to see if you have spark. It sounds like an issue with a bad ground.

Is the ground your talking about on the back of the block right by the catch can?

And I dont think the CAS could have shifted cuz its screwed down... But I would like to check it to be sure, how should I do that? Im only 18 and I attempting this by myself in my front yard with nothing more than a normal wrench and socket set. I went through an aito tech class, but didnt get to work with engines much.

Check all grounds. ..coils, ecu, battery etc. Tried starting it with starting fluid?

With the stock manifold, was the catch can routed to the intake like OEM? If so, is that port still open?

the catch can connected to the valve cover and back to the block, voth of those are closed, and the T connects from the valve cover to the intake before the turbo

I know this is old, but did you ever figure out the problem? Same thing happened to me. Had a leak between manifold to turbo, so I took it all out, replaced all gaskets, and now my car will crank but no start
